I don't have anything positive or pleasant to say about my experience. But please management of Marrakech Villa accept my review as something to build upon and improve. This place has a lot of potential. 
When my mate and I stayed here, it was only the two of us here for the entire week. At first I wondered why, but then it all became apparent. 
Firstly, this isn't really a villa. Rooms are standard and quite comfortable. 
Secondly, there is no 24-hour reception. Only a day caretaker, and a night caretaker. I don't quite know what they did. On my last day here, the day caretaker had asked me for 200 rupees to buy groceries, which he said he'd return back to me tomorrow. I didn't give him the money. I would like to advise Marrakech Villa that this is extremely unprofessional not giving your staff any money to buy groceries for  hotel purposes. The number of times we were locked out at night (and it wasn't even that late at night) because the night caretaker person went to sleep or we didn't inform him what time we were returning. I've stayed in many hotels, and never have I had to tell hotel staff what time I will be returning at night. Perhaps giving us a key to the main gate would help the hotel and guests. 
Thirdly, lounge area. Not really a lounge. There was no TV on the wall. 
Fourthly, the location of the villa is just unfortunate. Really far from the main city of Colombo. Tuk Tuks only service the local area. Taxis to and from the hotel to the city cost about rupees 600-700 each way. 
Finally, there's no on-site kitchen. So basically you have to fend for yourself. And given this place is in the middle of nowhere, finding a good or decent restaurant nearby is a major challenge. 
Only positive I can point out is the outdoor pool. It's relaxing. However, I don't recall it ever being cleaned in the seven days that I stayed here. For those thinking of staying here, please read above review and decide for yourself. Thanks. 

Terrible but has so much potential. 

The managment is very bad. We booked online and after a 8 hour drive we arrive around 6 in the evening. They were waiting for us and helped us carry our bags to our rooms. They were at first very helpfull for me and my wife (she is pregnant). We went for dinner in town and when we came back in the late evening/night they kicked us out of our room. Double booking. The other people booked a month in advance which is weird because first they were expecting us. They said that they fixed a room at an other location but 4 times the price that we paid here. We called the manager but the line was bad. When we asked if we could use the phone of the hotel he said he didnt have a phone. 30 seconds later he's phone rang. So actually he was lying. He fixed an other hotel and promised me there was a pool. Off course that was a lie too.

Very bad managment and service

Marrakech is a beautiful calm and quite villa. Staff was very helpful. Room are very clean and luxury. I really love this place . I will definitely not think twice to recommend this place to anyone. I'm quite sure you will not get a such a lovely experience from a leading busy hotel

5 star for low rate....

We rented out the entire place in February this year. Booking the place was difficult as email replies were erratic and trying to contact the booking coordinator was also a big hassle. But after a lot of calls and emails we finally got a reservation confirmed. The villa is located at Jayawardenepura Kotte very close to the Parliament building. Its located on a quiet bylane with a lot of residential villas nearby. The villa is done up in a Mediterranean style and I found the living room, dining, bedrooms and toilets to be majestic. You can find chandeliers even in the bathrooms. there's also a fair sized swimming pool in the first floor terrace garden. Breakfast is served in the dining room but is just simple fair like toast, eggs and butter and jam. I felt the place wasn't used much as there was a musty smell in the living room and some kind of maintenance was going on downstairs. But overall its a nice, lavish place even though its a bit far from the main city area.

Well worth the money

We were booked in to another villa over the Christmas period but unfortunately due to a problem with the plumbing we were informed the day before that we couldn't stay!!!  Can you imagine the shock as we were a party of ten with a Christmas Day party for 26 planned!!!
We didn't need to worry at all as were informed  that we could stay at Villa Marrakech...wow what a fantastic place!!! It is seriously impressive with amazing decor and space but what really made it special for us were the staff.They were all so helpful and friendly and with only one day's notice they laid on Christmas for us as though it had been planned for ages. Thank you so much for everything and for all the little extras such as the Christmas music,the lanterns on the stairs even though my nieces son had great fun blowing them out thinking they were birthday candles!!!
I also feel that I have to mention Raju in person as he did so much for us....running(literally) to the shops for drinks for us,going out to get tuk tuks for us and so much more.....thank you 
I would highly recommend Villa Marrakech to anyone who wants to stay in Colombo without paying hotel prices .
