During our stay in the premises an excellent service provided by hotel staff. Meals were really delicious and health concern.Highly recommended property around Polonnaruwa for foreign and domestic tourists

Excellent Service

This place is located a bit outside the town but this is not a problem at all. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. The garden is just beautiful with a lot of palm trees and other plants, like mango etc. The host and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They will try to help you with everything you might need. You can even arrange day trips and transportation with them on an very uncomplicated way. The breakfast and dinner is very delicious and the take your diet wishes into account or make it less spicy if you wish. We had a great time here. Thanks a lot. 

Living in a tropical garden

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our trip and absolutely loved it. Sriyan, Indi and Hasitha couldn't have been nicer or cooked us better meals (Hasitha's stir fry was possibly the best stir fry we've had!). Breakfast was delicious and filling and they bagged up what we didn't eat for lunch - also giving us a packed breakfast for our last day when we left early.
We were able to hire bikes from Sriyan to cycle round the ancient ruins for a very reasonable price. The rooms were basic but comfortable. Our next stops were Sigiriya and 
Dambulla and then onto Kandy - and Indi offered to taxi us there for a very decent charge. 
We couldn't have had a more different experience than some of the previous reviews, the previous owners seem to have been a lot less kind than our hosts! Would 100% recommend and would stay there again should we come back!

Lovely staff and easy access to the lake and ancient cities

I don’t think we could have had a better stay! The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful, and although we stayed as a family of five, they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Rooms have air conditioning and fans so the stay is very comfortable, and the WiFi is super strong! We had dinner and breakfast there, which were both delicious - catering to both those who love spicy food and those who prefer milder dishes - and the food is prepared on site, so it’s lovely and fresh. Even the vegan in our family had a large range of dishes available to her! Organising a tuk tuk ride and bicycle hire to the ancient city was fast and easy with help from the staff, and they were always happy to help, whether it be with tea and coffee or organising transport around Polonnaruwa. So sad we had to leave a night early, as we would’ve happily stayed for much longer, but unfortunately our schedule had changed. If we ever return to Polonnaruwa, this will be the place to stay. I wholeheartedly recommend it. :)

Amazing staff, beautiful location, delicious food. 

Beautiful and tropical houses where the staff takes care of every detail to make you feel happy and special. Close to the city and inside you can get any services like bikes, tuc-tuc, any food...100% recommended!!! 

Great place with a magnific service

The owners of this hotel are lovely. Always wanting to help and making sure everything is ok. The breakfast was great and the garden is really relaxing- Recommended after a long day at the sacred city.

Really enjoyable stay

I had to book a room suddenly and time is about 10.30 pm due to the lack of space where we booked and stayed during our vsit to Polonnaruwa, Somawathiya. It was a comfortable staying at Palm garden guest house and manager welcome us very friendly. 

Room had a very good working A/C, comfortable bed and sleeping was very smooth. Room was very clen but only the negative point is bathroom. It was not upto the standards but guess it is due to the sudden booking I made.

Overall, this is a very good hotel for families and recommend the place.

Very sudden stay

The owner was friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If I needed something they were quick to help.

The food was ok (lunch) as well as breakfast. 

The bed was clean but there were a couple times I had some plates or utensils which were not very clean. There were a lot of ants when I went.

I sat out in the years and noticed there were a lot of cigarettes butts and a few beer bottle caps hanging around on the lawn. The same night I noticed it, there was a little local party happening at the hotel. The next day the owner sincerely apologized and said they had a birthday party last night but I get the feeling a lot of birthday parties happen here.

You can rent bicycles here for 300 rupees which is ok. Other places provide free use but their price was competitive with local bike rentals.
