Perfect location

Hotel is ideally located for both beach and sea front restaurants.
Food quality for breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed our late night drinks on the rear terrace
Rooms are clean and comfortable but the only down side on this newly refurbished hotel is the drainage which does need sorting … as soon as possible 
If it were not for the ‘wif’ it would be more highly rated
Staff were superb in every area

Super Hotel and super staff

This is a really lovely small hotel. Great for couples who want a quiet relaxing break. 
The pool area is lovely and there are plenty of comfy loungers.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet was full of lovely fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses and a hot selection.
The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced.
The central location is perfect! 

Great couples break

It’s not a boutique hotel first of all, unless boutique means small rooms lol. I’m generous in giving it 3 stars. The small room and bed is the number 1 reason I wouldn’t stay here again, sharing a room at any rate.
The pluses - central location yet only 2/3 min walk from the beach, newly refurbished, quiet, well designed room (on the whole), decent size balcony, big TV, very good staff, nice bar area with pianist. 
The minuses - small room as mentioned, bouncy bed (every time my partner turned over I was bounced around) and not a large double as described on booking.com, rock hard pillows, shoddy finishing eg, drawer front on wardrobe fitted upside down, bedside table fixed too close to the window (bed has had to be moved so balcony door can be opened), net curtain fitted over main curtain, can’t shut balcony door from outside, shower leaks, water not hot enough at 7pm (when it’s not even half full so God knows how cool it would be if full), sewage smells sometimes in lift area and from toilet, pool area uninviting (needs screening from bar area open to the public), and weirdly no stairs available to use (like only), though this is obviously a minor issue.

Staff try hard but substandard

I'm afraid the only positive thing I have to say here is that the staff was very friendly.
Despite the negative reviews of this hotel I booked this room because it was the only one which was available in the town. Unfortunately the negative reviews on this site are quite accurate.

- Outdated is an understatement. Everything is old, worn out and sometimes broken.
- The bed was probably the worst I had in any of the hotels I slept in. The mattress seemed it had been used by an elephant for some years. It doesn't give any support anymore, you sink straight to the bottom of the bed if you lay in it and you feel the annoying bedsprings pushing in your back.
- I stayed 3 nights in the hotel and despite the hanger "please clean room", my room has never been cleaned or had bedding/towels changed. This caused me to go to the reception on the 3rd day to ask for a roll of toilet-paper. Luckily the receptionist was kind enough to give me a new towel as well upon request.
- Breakfast is very simple (white bread, croissants, jam, cheese / ham and some fruit). However, I shouldn't complain about this as it was very cheap.

Bottom line: I didn't have a good stay in this hotel and couldn't get a good sleep. If no other room was available I would recommend bringing a tent a staying at a campsite.

Read the reviews, it's as bad as it sounds

Strange place looks like the soul has been sucked out of it similar  to a bad hostel half rooms never in use grubby outside toilets 
Cans etc rarely in date 
Arrogant management have drained this place 
I think it's more of a bar with kids rides more than a hotel
