Hostal Platja

Just back from a 5 day stay in Hostal Platja and didn't know what to expect as there are no Reviews on Tripadvisor. Arrive at 9 pm and rang the bell. A very friendly gentleman checked us in. We were give a choice of 2 rooms. Rooms were probably a little small. Had A/C which worked well but a little noise if you are a light sleeper. Also a mini fridge with two bottles of water, which is a very nice touch. Mini fridge was also a little bit noisy, but not too bad. Bathroom was quite small but adequate in every way. Hot water, towels and toiletries. Bed made up and towels changed every day. Bed linen changed at least once in the 5 days. It was very clean. Hostel had a lovely bar/resturant with a very friendly staff.The locals used it all the time and it was unbelievably cheap. We knew before we went that the hostel didn't have balconies. It would have been ideal for sitting out as the weather was so hot. Windows opened but we didn't take a chance in case there were mosquitos (bad experience in Pisa!!). However we didn't see any. This place didn't have the feel of a hostel about it. Very quiet at night. Another thing,best to be aware that there is no lift so you had to climb some stairs. Didn't bother us. Really, no problems at all, just be aware that some rooms may be a little small, no lift and no balconies. But it was cheap, clean and a friendly place in the most fantastic location beside the port and the lovely beaches. Cambrils is truly a fantastic place. People very friendly and helpful. Lots of bars and restaurants remembered us from previous years and greeted us fondly. Cambrils may be a bit quiet if you want to party all night!!! Give this place a try and once you are aware of the little things I mentioned you will have a ball. A Farrell
