Grand Hyatt Barcelona

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 4 nights, as a guest of a wedding party. I am wheelchair bound and can honestly say I did not need to worry at all. The hotel is fully accessible for wheelchair users and all the staff are very accommodating. I booked the wheelchair accessible room for the 4 days I was there. The room was beautiful and clean and most importantly so easy to manoeuvre around in, in a wheelchair. The bed was at the right level to transfer on and off from my wheelchair with ease. I did struggle to get comfortable on the bed but that may be because I am used to sleeping on an adjustable bed back at home. Here I had to put pillows behind me to prop me up. The bathroom facilities were spot on. I could wheel underneath the bathroom sink in my wheelchair comfortably and the toilet had folding grab rails on each side to make transfers easy and safe. (Pictures of toilet and sink attached) The shower had a black fold out seat inside (this can be seen in the photos) but after explaining to concierge that I need something with arms either side to hold onto, he delivered me an adjustable shower chair with arms and grippy legs right away (refer to picture) This made showering so easy, safe and accessible. We didn't have time the explore outside the hotel but from what I saw, shops and restaurants are all within a short distance from the Grand Hyatt, and along a straight line- this makes it SO easy to go places and then find the hotel again. All the staff at the grand hyatt ensured I had a comfortable stay and were always on hand to help. Thank you Grand hyatt for a memorable stay, you put all my anxieties at ease, I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel for accessibility.
