While this is one of many hanok accommodations located right within the village (and I definitely recommend staying in the village!), the service was what elevated the experience. I recommend contacting the managers ahead of time (if you don't speak Korean, by looking up choice phrases or getting a Korean-speaking friend to help you) because then they can really help you out. I was able to drop off my luggage in my room before check-in, at which point the manager also gave me a map and guided me through recommended spots to check out. I also let the manager know when I planned to leave, so I met him and he helped me to catch a taxi to get to my next destination.

Do have realistic expectations of what you're getting -- it's a traditional style room, so yes, you will be sleeping on the floor! And the rooms are basically for sleeping, so they aren't huge. (There also aren't windows, so if you are claustrophobic, you might also want to reserve up a size.) The bathroom is a combined shower room with a hand-held showerhead. There is breakfast provided is light: toast, apple slices, coffee.

But it has solid amenities to support you: wifi, individually-controlled air-conditioning, and shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/towels in the bathroom/shower room. And if you're in Jeonju, you will want to spend your time wandering around and not staying in your room anyhow!

Instrumental part of a lovely Jeonju experience

We booked this place because of the good reviews it had been left by many other travellers. Unfortunately, our personal experiences fell short of what others had described. Very difficult to find the place initially and then we had to wait outside it for over half an hour because there seemed to be no one around; after all that, the owner emerged from his room. He was very helpful but the 15 minute display in his room of all of the nearby restaurants perhaps could have been conveyed by a written booklet. The room itself was small as expected but also extremely noisy and the bathroom was average although we chose not to use the shower. The hanok was in a great location in the village. Our 1 night stay was a decent experience but we would not stay here again.

A decent experience but would not stay again

This Hanok has a very charming courtyard and a tranquil ambience. The room and the small kitchenette are immaculate.  Attractions are just a short walk away. It was a very relaxing and pleasant place to stay in. We booked a triple room for the two of us for some extra space to move around. Highly recommended.

Authentic and Charming.

The owners greeted us as if we were long lost friends coming to their house for a visit. 

The property is charming and we loved the room they gave us. 
Also, the home stay feel of having toasted bread and jam in the morning was awesome. 

Mrs Owner even called a cab for us on the last day and helped us with our luggages after allowing us to have our to-go lunch on the property even though we have checked-out. 

It's not just a business, the owners are genuinely amazing hosts.  

the property was hard to find initally but when we figured out the numbering we realised it was just right where we were standing, except that we needed to walk further in. what is good is also that the property is part of the hanok village and close without being in the middle of high tourist traffic. super convenient.

Warmth

Warm welcoming tea for us when we reached the place in a raining day... so nice of the Lady Owner. Overall, a Very pleasant experience to stay in a traditional Bukyungdang Hanok Guesthouse. Lady Owner of the place is very helpful to my family stay with them. When its raining in the morning, she even offered a free ride to train station for us to catch train from Jeonju to Yeosu and gave us a small packet of fruits for our next journey, so nice of her. She even recommend a nearby place, Mt. Maisan to us to go as our itinerary in Jeonju is abit long, 3 night in Jeonju but end up not going as it is raining that day. I will definitely recommend this hanok guesthouse for those who want to enjoy a traditional hanok stay.

Actually, behind this place... there's a GS25 convenient store. its just a short walk... up a little slope at the main road. turn left.
