Many plus points for a short business stay: private parking, quick service, good bed, good wifi, very central on Dorp Street. Bars & restaurants close by. Is the building amazingly nice? No, it is efficient and secure. Would I book it for a holiday? No. Would I book it again when I have to be in Stellenbosch for business: yes. 

Very ok for a business stay

The accommodation very clean, centrally located and staff helpful. 
Unfortunately and these were minor irritations which could easily be fixed, the television couldn't change channels and the toilet seat was broken.

Perfect location

We used Black Horse for a single night's accommodation. Location is good - situated close to restaurants. 

We stayed in Room 304. At first glance everything looked satisfying - will suit basic needs. However, the bathroom floor tiles have had better days. The fan in the room was not put together properly and we had to tighten the screws to keep the fan from falling over. The room was really hot. 

The room only had three-point plugs, luckily we packed an adapter for our phone chargers.

There are no full length mirrors in the cupboards. Only mirror is in the bathroom.

There is no lift. If you have a lot of luggage to carry - book a room on the first floor.

Black horse is a good option for basic needs and basic accommodation.

Stay

We loved staying at black horse. Every member of staff was efficient and so friendly and helpful. 

The room was perfect...working space, heater, fan, comfy bed and basic kitchenette with clean good bathroom. 

We loved that you could see the mountains out the window and the view from outside the third floor in the morning!

Last minute booking, everything was fantastic.  Management made a plan for early check in so we could freshen up before our function.  Location is great.  Rooms spacious, clean and well equipped. Parking & 24 hour security.  What more can you ask for, thanks Black Horse.

What a pleasant stay

The room, size and cleanliness was great but we felt that it was poorly kitted out to make ones stay functional. No toaster, no toilet brush, 2 mugs only, no bread knife, no sharp knife to cut a cucumber for example etc. Great potential but undermined by limited provision functional items.

I have made a call to the property that my flight will be arriving late and that I will only be able to check in between midnight and 1am. 

The property assured me that it wont be a problem. 

I arrived at the accomodation with no one around to check me in, we took an uber and the uber dropped us and left, meaning we were standing on the roadside early morning hours because we could not get into the property. 55 minutes later, after screaming hello, did not work,  I decided to jump the gate because it was unsafe and I found the security guard sleeping less than 20m awaybfrom the gate. 

I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. 
He also had an attitude when we checked in.

Overall the accomodation was good, minus the shower door that comes completely loose.

No assistance upon check-in

Wonderful apartment and location! It has secure off street parking with a security guard. The room is a bit cold in winter, an extra blanket and / or room heater would have been very useful if provided! 

Stuff is friendly space is clean and the town is great  All I saying see the space you gonna love your stay , every single stuff member was helpful that's why I'm going back again soooooooooiiiion it's great
