I loved the international buffet breakfast and champagne in the pool with hot water on a winter day. The hotel was renovated and cozy. Great place for a long weekend, practically in the neighbourhoods.

My boyfriend and I have been in terme Catez in February 2020. Hotel Terme is great,I highly recommend, rooms are clean, cleaning lady comes every day to tidy the room and change towels. Breakfast and dinner are great too, various options, food is very tasty. Pool in the hotel is very nice, clean, large to swimm, and very important there's no crowd at all, so you can enjoy swimming in silence. We went to Winter Riviera, and I was VERRY DISAPPOINTED IN CLEANLINESS of the spa. There was a lot of chewing gums at the bottom of the pools, as well as dirt at the bottom of the pools and jacuzzi. All in all, hotel is excellent, 4* deserved, but spa in winter riviera disappointed me.

Hotel Terme - Catež

The hotel is clean, tidy, warm (we were in the winter months), the staff were very friendly. But the interior needs to be refurbished so people who come don't think they are 1970-79. And this is not the only reason because some things need to be replaced because they are worn out. There was four of us in the room. Two adults on double bed, one small child and 12 year old daughter on extra bed. There was plenty of space in the room, there was a thermostat to regulate the heat of the room, mini bar, tv, balcony, and a spacious bathroom. The food supply was good, and there were enough choices for everybody.

Very good, but...

We are still here since Friday, excellent food and staff in the restaurant. Everybody kind and frendly. Clean and big rooms but air condition doesn’t work and it’s too hot during day time. Swimming pool very good but a little crushed, oldbut clean. Very peace and quiet place compared wit hotel Toplice where we usually stay. Good for couples.

Very good hotel

Stayed 4 nights on a business trip. Room was okay, carpet pretty tired and air con not working well. Spacious enough and clean. Also had a small balcony, mini bar and safe. No tea or coffee facilities though. Dinner was buffet style which was basic but reasonable quality.  Breakfast was nice. Good indoor and outdoor pools too. Staff were friendly. It was quiet due to time of year though I'd imagine it will be very busy in the summer.

I booked 3 nights at the hotel Terme as I saw a travel page from a mum that was suggesting Terme Catez to families. I wrote directly through the web page of the Thermal centre. The reservation staff replied in Italian, they were very nice and tried to propose the best solution according to my requests. They told me that I could book 3 different hotels but for the days I wanted the only hotel available was this one. 
The hotel is very nice, a warm welcome from professional staff that could speak very good English (some of them do speak also a good Italian). The hotel has 4 stars especially thanks to swimming pool and spa. The hall of the hotel is very elegant and the restaurant too. On the other side, the room is not that much. I mean it is big and clean. also the toilette is ok. But the carpet on the floor is not perfectly clean and the bed of the children is a sofa bed, which in my opinion when you pay 50% of the adult rate is not enough. Breakfast is super! If you want, included in the hotel you have twice a day the possibility to enter the huge swimming centre of the nearby hotel, Hotel Toplice. Being winter, we had to put on our clothes and jackets and walk in the pedestrian way in front of the hotel for 150 meters to reach it. While if you stay here during the summer period of course it will be much nicer as you may walk in your swimming suit. There is another hotel in the middle between Terme and Toplice, it is called Catez. Also this hotel has a swimming pool and can access Toplice through a tunnel. This allows the guests to walk from the room to the Toplice swimming pools with a bathrobe. Catez Is more simple hotel (3 stars), I didn't see the rooms, but from the hall you can say it is a little less than Terme. Toplice has the plus of being in front of the biggest swimming centre, on the other side, maybe, it is more crowded. The swimming centre in Toplice was top, my children enjoyed the slides and everything else, water is warm and safe also for smaller kids. There's fun for everyone.  In front of the hotel there are: pizzeria (didn't try it, so I cannot say if it's ok, but it was crowded so I can guess it was good); bars; casino; an ice skating ring (3 euros for the rollers and free entrance). In the hotels they organize entertainments like live musics, aperitifs etc. I was expecting a little more entertainment for kids, while it is intended more for the adults. As a matter of fact, we visited Slovenia and Croatia during the day, arrived at the hotel around 5, went to the pools until 9, after that my kids didn't need any entertainment after all.

We have been going to the hotel for many years, but it is noticeable that the hotel needs renovation, especially rooms.
It is noticeable that no more funds are invested in the hotel and, unfortunately, it is only a shadow of the former Terme Hotel as we know it.

We travelled here in December 2018. We are a family of 4 with two small children but they would not allow us to book the suite because allegedly it is only for 2 adults and 1 child  and made us book two rooms.
The staff was friendly and professional.  The hotel in a quiet and green area with nice opportunities for outdoor walks. The rooms were ok, but the furniture  is cheap  and the carpet very stained and dirty. The sofas in the breakfast room were unacceptably dirty and stained, i really did not know where to sit. Breakfast buffet variety and quality  was fine.

We arrived on a friday afternoon and we expected that check-in will take a little longer because there were a lot of people, but waiting more than half an hour was too much. The receptionist was very unwelcoming and seemed like he was only there because he had to be - his answers were short, rude and not helpful at all, if I would ask antoher guest the same questions I think I would get better answers from them than from him. Other guests were cutting the line all the time and the two receptionist never once said that they should wait. The check-out lady was much friendlier.
Our room was on the highest floor overlooking beautiful nature and the spacious balcony was a huge plus but there was also a downside to it - the light on the balcony could not be switched off so you couldn't really sit there after sunset as the insects were crazy, also while sleeping you couldn't open the door because of mosquitos and we didn't want to turn on AC as we are not used to it at home and didn't want to get sick so the air was not good during the night (we put a t-shirt over the light the second night and it helped a little bit but not much). And the irony is that on one paper in the room it says that they ask you not to turn on the light at night as the insects will get in the room but on the other hand there is no switch to turn off the light haha! The other thing is the outside furniture - 2 small plastic chairs and a nice but a very small table (doesn't fit 3 regular plates on it). We missed something to hang the wet towels and swimmsuit on it.
The room itself was actually very nice and spacious, so was the bathroom, but it also had a problem - the bath is very big but the glass is way too short so while showering, there is a 99% chance that the floor will get wet. It doesn't matter how careful you are, the water will get underneath the glass and wet the floor that way. Everything was clean except the floor at the balcony door was a mess! Also make sure that you always LOCK THE DOORS! They can't be opened from the outside whithout the chip so we didn't even think about locking them while we were in the room and one afternoon I noticed that they were opened and didn't think anything of it because maybe one of use didn't close them properly but the next morning they were opened again! I was very uncomfortable to say the least... a gush of wind probably openes them if they are not locked.
Moving on to the restaurant. The elevator kinda works as a time machine, because you come from the room and the hall that are very modern, to the restaurant that hasn't been changed since my parents were teenagers. The unpleasant smell of cooked sausages hits you the second that the elevator doors open to the main floor in the morning. They offer eggs made 3 different ways, 10 types of meat, 5 types of cheese, 10 different types of youghurt and not a single type of plant-based milk or youghurt.. even after asking the waiter if he could check if they have some, I don't know if he forgot or they didn't have any, I didn't want to bother him again. So if you are vegan, there is a lot of fruit (from the previous day), veggies (tomatoes - tasteless), nuts and juices (don't drink them after 10a.m. - it's just colored water) to choose from, but nothing that will keep you full for a longer period of time. If you have any type of food allergies, it's better for you to bring your own food as there is not a single list of allergens next to the food. The waiters are very quick so your table is always clean. 
The gym is well equiped and spacious, saunas were closed. If you want peace and quietness, visit the pool at the hotel; if you are with kids, you definetly have to visit Thermal riviera.
Overall we had a great time, I feel good about coming because we paid with the voucher - if I paid for it with my own money, I would be upset (as a student I would choose a cheaper alternative because 250€ for two nights is not in my price range).
If somebody from the hotel staff in reading this, the furniture can not be changed over night, I understand that, but the fact that the cleaning ladies and the staff at the pool is way friendlier than the receptionists is just sad. Not even a single Hello! when you come through the door. The restaurant staff as well! And as a student I have worked in a hotel restaurant and the fact that you smile and say Hi! to the guest was expected from every employee.


This is a 2* hotel

I've been coming to Hotel Terme for years. After more than 15 years, I saw nothing new. And what is broken, worn out, is not maintained. The sauna door slams shut, whirpools barely work. In addition, there is only one Finnish sauna in the entire hotel. What has been improving all these years are prices. Every year the prices are higher and the service is worse. I'm not sure, but it seems to me that the chlorine level put into the pool is too dormant.
