Don’t eat here. Food isn’t tasty at all and it’s expensive. Coffee is HighTatras average, wich means you wouldn’t enjoy as well. Nothing changed here in the last few decades. Personal is grumpy as 90% of the time. It’s all about exploiting the location.

Try Zamskovska Chata instead, it’s about 20min far from this place.

Do not eat there, the food is unfresh and causes serious illness. We spend our vacations in Tatra Mountains and on that day we went to see waterfalls. We stopped on this restaurant to have a metal. I ate chicken strips and my companion goulash and we got very very sick

Hotel Hrebioenok sits at 1285m above seal level and has a bar and restaurant. The rooms are basic but clean, with good views. Staff are friendly and helpful. Don't expect 5* service, just enjoy the location.

Most people stay here for just a day or two and use it as a base for hiking in the High Tatras. We stayed for 9 nights and loved it. When you stay here you get free passes for the funicular which connects Hrebienok and Stary Smokovec. This is a big saving for you in terms of money (saves abou 9 Euros a day) and time (it takes 45 minutes to walk between the two).

The food is typical Slovakian, a little stodgy and plain but perfectly good. Breakfast is buffet style. WiFi is apparently free but I always found it difficult to connect - suggest you go to the upper funicular station to collect your emails.

Our bed was a little uncomfortable, but the views from the room were superb.

Super location, halfway between Mountain Chalet and Hotel

We are not very picky and did not have high expectations as the price was pretty low but this was the worst hotel experience ever. Small, dark rooms, I got to sleep in a childrens extra bed, no TV in the room, our shower was attatched to the sink = the sink wad located in the shower. Furthermore the the walls were so thin you can hear every sound (it also travelled well through the ventilation system), the interior was not updated since the 70'ties and neirher the not so fresch carpets, mayby that's why my chair broke at breakfast... There is no mobile connection at the premises and the wi-fi was sometimes working at the café but with an extreamly poor connectivity (so you did not even have a chance to book another hotel!). Location is only good if you want to drag your luggage from parking to cable-car and then to the hotel, paing an extra 8 euros for the trip and then be stuck in the mountains (cabke car only operative until 19) eating their bad food. The only thing acceptable was the breakfast. Do not go there if you do not absolutely have to!


Any camp-site in Romania is better

The hotel got great location for hiking The High Tatras and they provide great services. We arrived around 10pm and they picked us up with the car from Stary Smokovec cause you can not go up with the car. Also they got good breakfast buffet. Room was old fashioned but very clean. If you go to The High Tatras for hiking do not miss that hotel. 

It's all about the location

Perfect place, perfect service. Good location to stay overninght near the mountains.
The price is cheap 16e/night.  Near restaurant is fantastic and cheap as well.  
I really suggest  and definitely will come there again.
