Nice place pretty close to Lac Rose... there is a big swimming pool but too close to a motorbike field so the noise gets pretty annoying... we have spent just one night and we have appreciated the place after all... good buffet dinner and slow free wi fi

Were there to discover the pink lake (Lac rose) The rooms  like African compartments, are very nice even if a refresh of bathrooms are necessary. But everything is there for kids: swimming pool, swings, slides. Staff was also very kind.

breakfast(normal), tv , no coffee or tea facilities,  wifi in the room, clean, swimming pool, very quiet, frienly and helpfull staff. They only speak French. you can have your dinner or lunch as well ,

Near the "not at the moment" Pink Lake
Big car park . The swimming pool looked OH SO INVITING!!!
Food took a while to arrive, despite ordering before we visited the lake.
Reasonable price, local dishes though not many "small plates "on offer.
Only offered fizzy drinks ,beer or juice from tetra pack, but local fresh juice available if you persist and ask .
Toilets, separate Ladies and Gents, reasonable ,better if you turn the water inlet tap on!
Pink Lake colour degraded due to heavy rainfall upsetting mineral balance  but still interesting location

Good rest stop on journey

Spent one night. Very dated bungalow. The A/C can only be turned on and off, but the temperature is set at 20°C and cannot be adjusted. The room included a low table and chair. Sufficient number of power jacks. No safe or electric kettle. Comfortable bed with mosquito nets.
Bathroom with very slow draining shower, no shower curtain. Decent water pressure. Only one bath towel provided - no hand towel or bath mat.
Wifi worked well.
Very basic breakfast buffet.


Very dated

Chez Salim is a very, very unique place. It is located at the Pinlk Lake/Lac Rose, a popular tourist attraction for those visiting Senegal and it was a stop over for the Dakar Rally that is held every year. I have visited the Pink Lake several times, but have never stayed overnight. My Discover Senegal Tour group used Chez Salim as one of the hotels on our two week stay in Senegal. Upon arrival you are in awe of the beautiful, tropical surroundings. The grounds are well maintained and the the circular dwellings give you a feeling of a primoral experience. There are several pools, that were quite refreshing after a long hot day of exploring the Pink Lake area. The resturant served delicious food and drinks, the staff was very accomadating to our group of 20 people. The complaint that I have about Chez Salim is that the exterior of the accomodations is very appealing, however once inside your stomach drops!!! The rooms need some serious attendtion, such as thorough cleaning, dusting, new furniture, new bathroom fixtures and over updating of the rooms. I feel that some attention to the interior space will make Chez Salim a more pleasurable destination!!!!  

Unique accomodations at the Pink Lake

This restaurant is located at a hotel resort near Lac Rose.   It has a good selection of local dishes.   Staff was helpful and friendly.   It’s a good place even if you are not staying at the resort.  Restaurant is open air as well.

Decent local restaurant 

This review is only for the restaurant as I did not stay in the hotel. Chez Salim has a great location, being so close to Lac Rose but it is quite expensive. Very nice onion lemon chicken with rice and lovely staff. I would give this 3.5 stars.
