1)      Impression. There was no place in Tagil Hotel & no desire to book an apartment,  that’ s why I decided to try something new. I used to stay in Tagil 4 business reasons every month. The Soviet style, old –fashioned rooms & severe security in lobby are integral attribute of decoration. You have to relax & take it easy.
2)      Internet connection. Wi-fi is only in corridor. So again, if you relax, you can enjoy your time with ipad sitting on leather lounge in green zone of indoor palms.
3)      Rooms. I recommend booking a room for 100$ per night, it is comfortable. To tell the truth sometimes I felt like in guest room in Dracula castle, so dark it was. But if you can’t find this available room, book double. It is also ok. In comparison with Tagil Hotel Metallurg space room feature is its wit.
4)      Nice park near the hotel like in Soviet Union
5)      Breakfast in Russian style: oatmeal, coffee and something like a sandwich was ok.
Relax and have a good trip in Soviet Union


Hotel with severe village character 

Even if the upper class rooms are ok, environment of the hotel is bad... Wherever we are going, we can see a lot of place which are concerning ... Cables in the corridors, kitchen not so clean... However, there is no other choice in the city.

They are busy refurbishing some places in the hotel such as the main entrance... It a pity, it seems that it was much nicer before : floors, stair case .... 

Not ready to go there again.... If not fully obliged.

Food in the restaurant was far below expectation

Very old hotel

this is an old building that looks like a converted apartment building. the rooms have been updated for hotel use. I did not find one english speaking person anywhere so communication is difficult. They do take master card and visa but do not take AmEx. My room was clean but they really skimp on the soap and restocking of the paper products. DO NOT drink the water. buy bottled water or take a filtration bottle and get the water from the carboy dispensers in the hall ways...service in the restaurant Verona was slow but the food was good..be prepared for REALLY slow service. Did I say slow? I will say that the staff at both Verona restaurant and hotel was friendly and tried to be helpful given the language barrier.

hotel metallurg is not a western style hotel in any sense of the word

The hotel is old soviet structure with large halls and old used rooms. there were hot water (not so bad for these places), twice-a-week cleaning, and there were not internet. at first floor there is a restaurant "Verona" that is also quite good. the food was normal. as about breakfast in hotel in the morning I cant say that is excellent. breakfast's menu seems to non to change since 80'ty. tha coffee was poor, other food is also insipid. so we had to go everyday in some bar to make a breakfast.
