The Hostel was very clean and well located. There were lovely views from the balcony and intricate Spanish tile floors. We had a nice visit with the owner and he recommended a great place for traditional Puerto Rican food that was around the corner. The rooms were simple but very comfortable with good air conditioning that we definitely needed after a day of walking around in the hot sun.

Historic home

I recommend choosing a room on the top floor. The one I got was next to the office and the waiting area. I needed WiFi, so I stayed in that room. If you need Internet access in your room, it is better to ask first, since not all rooms get the signal, but there is always access in the common area. It is good value for money. Helpful staff! Excellent location!

The best: location

Keep in mind, this is a hostel. The rooms are just beds and you share bathrooms. It is in an excellent location in Old San Juan. You can hear the late night partying (we stayed on a Saturday), so make sure to bring ear plugs! The building is super cute with little balcony's for standing on every floor. Great price too!

Location Location Location!

This was a last minute option as all the other choices were way more expensive the host was very friendly and could not do enough to ensure that you are comfortable the check in time is at 3:00 p.m this type of accommodation is not for everyone especially if you are someone like me that is very concerned about cleanliness the bathroom is a common bathroom that is used by other guest and not very clean the rooms are old dated the mattress does not have bed pads and you could see that the mattress are solid and stained they also did not mention that there is a dog living there so if you are not a pet person you might want to pass on this one it's not bad if you just need somewhere to sleep or if you are familiar with the hostel type of accommodation this is not a guest house it provides hostel like accommodation and they also have a few private rooms no private bathroom just private rooms

Cheapest i found

I was the only guest the entire time I was here. Showers were pretty gross so i only used them once with shoes and a swimsuit on. Beds were fine but i ended up having to go buy bedding as all i got was a thin sheet and there is not Wi-Fi at all. Location is great if you want to explore old san juan and if all you need is a bed at night. Needs some upgrades but there is potential

It was okay

The location and price are the main selling points for this place. Conveniently located within Old San Juan, all the sights are within walking distance. The guest house itself is a bit run down and may have seen better days, but the facilities are sufficient. There are not really any common areas inside the guest house apart from a few chairs. However, there is a rooftop terrace of sorts, but the WiFi does not reach up there. The man who works there is nice, but he is a man of few words and did not seem to speak much English.

Basic, but great location

The check in/ out was easy, Host was friendly BUT you can tell they don’t really clean the rooms before you arrive, the bed had crumbs in it & I found trash under the bed. I also was itching and left with a couple of bites . The location is great for the price but I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re cool with being hot & like loud noises .

You get what you pay for

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.  We've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world--this was close to the worst.  Disgustingly dirty, cockroaches in the showers (I know its tropical, but this was due to no cleaning), and the man who checked us in was rude and unhelpful.  Not only that, we had paid extra for a room with air conditioning, and he put us in the wrong room, even though we kept insisting that it was wrong.  After a sweltering night, the next morning I found our reservation online and showed him that we had booked an AC room. He grudgingly moved us.  I know there were people in that room the night before, so I think they had double booked and just hoped we wouldn't argue when they put us in the hot room.   Beware:  it is a very convenient location to walk to all the sites, but it is extremely loud with bars and cars and construction noise from early morning to late at night.  We basically didn't sleep at all.  And, the water is not potable because of all the construction work being done in the area.  Because there were three of us, it only saved us $20 a night to do the hostel instead of an AirBnb, and it definitely wasn't worth the savings.
