Ricgem Place

Stayed there for 4 nights. Room was clean & comfortable. Air conditioning & fan always a bonus. 
En suite was clean & suitable. (No hot water is standard in El Nido.) 
Staff were extremely friendly & accommodating. When I asked for an extra blanket, I received it straight away. 
TV in the room didn't work, I let the staff know -- wasn't a deal breaker for me since I wasn't in El Nido to watch TV!
Great price, great location -- right in the city. Nice 5 minute walk to the shops, restaurants & tricycles & scooter rentals are always around. 
P150 (for 2 pax) to get to Las Cabañas Beach from door to door. 
WiFi only in the communal lobby (again not a deal breaker.)

Nice place to stay very accessible and few minutes away from the beach and restaurants. Our breakfast is not included but it was very cheap for only 100 php. We had our early tours so we are almost out of the room the whole day. Only downside was the check out time we were picked up at 6:45 in the morning but the lady said that the receptionist will come at 7 am so we asked our driver to wait for us untill they come but overall we had an amazing stay. Palawaños are very welcoming and will definitely come back again.

Great hostel, great location, great price. 

El Nido Trip 

the location is good.
the room is very very small.
we as a couple didnt have enough space to open both of our suitcases in the same time.
also all the time there wae a lot of ants coming through the bathroom window.

Rooms are fine but small and simple. Everything Seems a bit old. Room was overall clean though. A-C and fan work but noisy. Maybe I expected too much. Staff is ok. WiFi didn’t work. It took me half An hour to find the place, they should get a sign or give instructions! 

Less than expected

The place is 5 minutes walk to the boat rides for the Tours in El Nido.

Safe place and free breakfast. Not bad if you are looking to just stay at night because you are out all today on tour or on the beach.

They turn off air-con/lights during the day unless you tell them that you are using the room..

Room are clean but not like north american standard. It has its own toilet. It is just a place to sleep.

Great Location

So we stayed for 3 nights, coming from puerto on a motorbike.

lets go with the good things first:
1.Good location, really quiet and always shaded.
2.somewhat great view, and really close to downtown of el nido.
3. breakfast was fair enough for its price of 100pesos.
4.they do not have hot water for the shower but the water is warm enough on its own.

now the bad things.
1.as stated in traveloka they have 24hour front desk, BUT when we arrived at 3pm for checking in, no one was there, and the whole time we stayed there was always no one at the reception/front desk and you had to knock on the desh or find them to get their attention.

2.upon checkin in the room wasnt prepared, no towel and blanket, the shower was broken so they had the replace the hose.

3.the staff were not welcoming at all, not all of them, the owner was really friendly, and the guy working there is also friendly, the old lady was ok, but the girls always had an attitude.

4.they turn off the airconditioning every time, like literally turn it off using a fuse box at their front desk, even if you go out for 1 hour they switch it off.and to get it back on you have to FIND the person at the front desk which is a real hassel, specially coming back after a tour and all you wanna do is rest.

5.wifi is really bad, and they change passwords without informing you.

6.they do not have housekeeping.

7.the bed is comfy, but the pillows are just hell. 

8.they stated they have free coffee, but again, you have to find the staff first so they can get the coffee for you.

so in the end, its good for a 1 night stay, but thats it. 
i do not reccommend this place for long staying guests.

Only good for a cheap 1 night stay

Ricgem’s boat operator nearly hit me and my two kids with the outrigger of their boat when they pulled up to Secret Lagoon while we were very clearly swimming in. Given how close they were to the rock, they could have also pinned us against it or damage the rock with their boat. 

Buy these cheap tours at your own risk.

Unsafe boat operators

I'm pretty used to travel with a low cost budget but honestly the Ric Gem "hotel" is out of any standard of decency.
very old rooms, dark, smelly, not clean at all, no facility than a noicy AC that produces an incredible noice during  the night.
Most or the rooms are without hot water.
The bathroom, if I can call it like this, is so small and dirty.
the breakfast does not inlcude neither tea nor a tost with jam, only eggs or Filippino's plates.
The staff barely speaks english.
The owners are so nasty and not very welcoming.

on top of it the prices is so high compare with the services offered.

NOT RECCOMMENDED AT ALL, El Nido offers many other hotels for the same price.
