We arrived at Treffpunkt in the late evening - the big plus is how close the place is to the Puerto Princesa Airport (50-100 peso tricycle ride). 

We slept in a 4-bed dormitory (although there were only the 2 of us during our 3 night stay). The rooms are not air conditioned so it got pretty toasty (there was a fan). The bathrooms are alright, but not the cleanest. I would say the overall cleanliness of the place is why I’m rating it as average (e.g. upon our arrival there was trash in the bin in our room). 
I remember reading someone’s comment about the rooster waking them up at night - but I found that there would be awake roosters in basically any place we go to 😊

The hostel can help to organize trips (we went to the Underground River) and van transfers to other cities (we went to San Vicente). You can also walk to many food places from there. 

Good location for a stopover 

Cute little hostel. Very basic, but does the job. Staff is friendly and they do provide breakfast in the morning.
Not much WiFi (if any) and the bathrooms have very little water pressure. Close walking distance to a few restaurants and a motorbike rental shop.

Lovely staff, great breakfast, probably best hostel in Puerto Princesa for that price. Only downside maybe wifi is just 200MB for free, but in this hostel and city it’s not much needed :)

Best after shower cream

Its an excellent place to stay. Reception and common areas are nicely designed and comfortable. Rooms are superclean and the athmosphere is very nice. Breakfast is simple but good with nice coffee. Best price quality ration you will get in pp.

Staying at Treffpunkt 5300 was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it to everyone visiting Puerto Princesa! The owner Kakay is a wealth of knowledge about Palawan and seems to know everyone and everything on the island and can give you amazing advice on where to go and what to do. Gaile (the young woman who manages the hostel) and the volunteers are all amazing and I had so much fun hanging out with them! The hostel offers free 200gb of wifi each day, daily breakfast (pancake sundays!), a TV loft with lots of movies/Tv shows to watch, location within walking distance to the beach and city, and a wonderful environment to meet some great people. The hostel is also very eco-friendly which is important to me and rare to find in the Philippines. This is by far the best and most affordable hostel in Puerto Princesa!

Home away from home!

Best things of the hostel are the staff (polite, helpful and cheerful) and the breakfast (it changes everyday and could vary from pancakes, to omelette, to break and fruit). 

It is a good 25 minutes walking to the centre and just about 5 driving. 40 mins walking from the airport and 10 by tricycle.

Rooms are okay with lockers (bring your own padlock). Unfortunately no a/c, just fans, so also bring your earplugs if you wanna have a good sleep. My room was located just next to the small balcony and there were always people chatting. 

One thing which is advertised wrong: the free wifi-only 200mb a day are free, after that you need to pay extra. So if you wanna watch a film or talk to your family/friends on skype as well as maybe planning your trip, forget it! 

You can organise tours with the hostel and sometimes they are cheaper.
