What a wonderful place! We were staying in Kragerø and took the ferry across to Stabbestad, which in itself was a wonderful experience. Then we drove on 15 - 20 mins to Portør. (We could have done as we did for the way back and drive as it is on a headland, but the ferry was a lovely experience).

We went to Porotør Pensjonat for lunch after going for a bathe in the surrounding waters, which have amazing smooth undulating rock formations around them as well as a small beach.

The staff were very friendly, the food delicious and generous portions, the location is out of this world - it was a lovely holiday memory that will stay with us forever. The smash burgers were amazing and my partner’s shrimp sandwich was far more than a sandwich! My mum enjoyed a cauliflower steak and my dad had a beef salad which was also very generous. 

If we can get back to Norway next year we will visit again for sure!

Wonderful place, food and staff

Great combo of decent food, friendly service and good atmosphere. Perfect for hosting a party, bringing friends or family, or just havo g a drink after a lazy summer day. New management has done wonders for this place.
They also have live concerts weekly😎

A traditional, genuine B&B style place with good food, live music and friendly service.

We went twice in a week. First time they had run out of food so there were limited plates to choose between. I had pizza and it was ok. The second time we came earlier and we had fish, biff and mussels. That was all very good and we were much more satisfied with our second visit. The area is beautiful. The garden so nice and family/children friendly.

Cute little place in Portør. Both a boutique hotel and a restaurant. It’s a white wooden house with a green grassy backyard. We had dinner a few weeks ago and it was a sunny and warm afternoon. They were hosting an event later in the evening so the place was busy and a bit chaotic. Unfortunately it seemed to affect the service. We waited a long time to be served and when out orders finally were taken we had to wait some more. The drinks arrived, but no food in sight. At the end we found out they had not registered our order and because it was getting late they didn’t even know if they could serve us. It worked out in the end, but they barely apologized and did not compensate in any way. The food was good (pizzas), but not amazing (I’ve had my share of pizzas so an a bit spoilt..) Being the only restaurant in the area - yes will probably return - just hoping they’re better organized next time.
