Wonderful boutique hotel! My wife and I stayed for two nights in the middle of our trip through Norway. Our favorite activity was the rowing/hiking trip with Anders on the old Postage route. Dinners were fantastic at the farm to table restaurant. We stayed in the Liverpool room. It was spacious and creatively decorated. 5 stars!

When we arrived on the train in Flam, we were greeted by our driver and taken to the hotel. We were a party of three women and couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more thoroughly. We stayed in the Liverpool upper suite and the design touches and comforts were excellent. While this is an old goat barn that had some rustic touches, the design aspects, including drapes, pillows, lamps and bedding are all beautiful. We had ample space and were extremely comfortable - we felt the bedding was luxe. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, herbs and of course, waterfalls in the background. The air is so fresh! 

On our first day, Thomas took us for a hike to a nearby waterfall, and then biking to the fjord the next day for a kayaking excursion with a local outfitter. Thomas is a true outdoorsman. He is kind and extremely interesting to speak to. We enjoyed our time with him. Lastly, we had the best food of our entire vacation here. The breakfast with the fresh bread, eggs to order and local cheeses, etc. was very good. The dinners were sublime. You could taste how fresh the local fish and meat were, and the sauces and vegetables accompanying them were outstanding. They accommodated a gluten allergy well. The young chef really knows his craft. This is a top notch hotel and we would highly recommend it.

Outstanding special boutique “hotel” in the mountains.  Beautiful setting, extraordinarily helpful and accommodating staff. Kudos to everyone but we want to give a shout out to our guide Anders who would meet with us in the morning to plan the day. Enjoyed our time spent with him immensely.  Breakfast is a simple continental buffet with house made breads but dinner is equivalent to a four star restaurant with an outstanding chef. The server (Heinrich) knows his wines and his music!  The rooms are decorated in an eclectic style and yes, as some wrote, there could be more lighting. The rooms are refurbished older buildings so they come with some limitations as you might expect. In all, we strongly recommend coming here if you are in this area. We hope to return with our children and grandchildren.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved everything about 292. We stayed in Jericho … the rooms are unique and while the bed was too soft the room was otherwise fine.. excellent food and enjoyed all the fresh ingredients from the garden. We had a car and drove into Aurland for a rib boat ride … a must do ..and hiked the next day … staff gave us directions to the trail head and easy to reach from 292. All of the staff were friendly informed and interesting people.

Fabulous boutique inn with luxurious bedding and outstanding service. Inn is nestled between a river and the mountains with a view of a gorgeous waterfall cascading down the mountain. The staff were thoughtful, with great attitudes. Shout out to Antoine, Laure and Anna Karen. The chef prepared delicious three-course meals every evening with local and farm - grown ingredients. Highlight was the pasture walk to a goat farm with a cheese tasting, traditional pancakes and apple cider.

Best advice I can give for travellers to Norway who are staying at 292, stay longer. We stayed for 3 nights in the historic Grandmother’s suite (it was the owner’s grandmother’s room when it was their family home) and with hindsight should have stayed 
4 or 5. The location is great for exploring the wonderful treks in the area. Huge thank you to our lovely guide. The food is excellent and creative using local ingredients . In fact the whole ethos of the hotel, working with local suppliers and communities is refreshing. 292 is the first hotel I’ve been to who have reduced their number of rooms to have a more intimate, home from home, relationship with guests. It’s the perfect place to resent those stress levels and contemplate a simpler, more rewarding way of life.

We loved our 4 night stay at this very special place during our 2 week trip in Norway.  I was traveling with my 12 year old daughter and this was the highlight of our trip - the beautiful setting, the lovely suite (Teresa’s suite), the incredible food, our excellent excusions and of course the people that work here.  

We had 3 excursions - pasture farm visit until in the mountains, kayaking across the fjord and fishing plus enjoying the beautiful property and having freedom to taste all the just ripe fruit that is grown on site (strawberries, cherries, gooseberries).  Our guides were experts in their area, great with me and my daughter, went the extra mile to make our excusions special.  

Our dinners were a highlight as well - such a creative and hyperlocal and delicious 3 course meals.  There was so much care and consideration with each meal and it really showed as we ate every bite.  

We were so sad to leave and this is one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed in our travels and can’t wait to come back.

I am not entirely sure I can accurately put into words how special and magical 292 Aurland is. We have loved all of our travels throughout Norway but we absolutely left a little piece of our hearts here. From the idyllic and tranquil storybook setting to the incredibly stylish and thoughtful rooms, decor and buildings to the staff (OH the staff - next level amazing, bless you Dagmara and the girls from Oslo) to the chef and food (still thinking about it) to the love and care of Bjørn and Tone in building this magical place. We will forever hold you all close to our hearts. You know you have found a special place when you instantly start planning your return and even look for property nearby!!  We will absolutely return one day ❤️

Beautiful setting in a valley.  Kept us busy from the moment we arrived with private guides escorting us on all excursions.  Excursions tailored to our interests and were the best of a three week trip to Norway.  Guides were outstanding.  Spoke English well and were very knowledgeable about the area and Norway.  Meals were delightful and made from local produce.  Be sure to visit the Naeroyfjord.  The most spectacular fjord we saw on our trip.  It is the narrowest fjord in Norway only 250 meters wide in one place and has the most spectacular scenery and tons of waterfalls.  Also, Borgund  Stave church.  Over 1000 years old and most authentic of all the stave churches still in existence.  Beautiful drive to get there and fascinating visit.  Only negative for us, rooms are small.  We would definitely go back.

Oh, I can’t begin to describe how much we loved staying here at 29|2 Aurland, but I’ll try! The rooms are so beautiful and quaint, we stayed in the Fisherman’s Cottage and we loved it! However, not so great for a 6ft Glamazon, the doorways are very low 😂. Doesn’t matter…so good, every room had its own en-suite. And the food…oh my goodness, absolutely divine!! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, all so good, all with produce from the farm or from local farms, it fit our ethos so well. We also did a guided hike to a few local goat farms which was wonderful, and our guides Anders and Sjur (from the hotel) were fantastic, we loved the hikes (and they weren’t too hard work!). 11/10, would stay here again in a heartbeat!
