Booked standard room, fotos on Booking.com as well as reviews were reasonable. We got an awful old room, damp, musty, horrible state. When complained was told that I had booked a standard room, and that was the standaard. For 110,00 euro's a night a total rip off. Beds reasonable, horrid flaky pillows, dirty musty carpet, dirty walls, grotty furniture etc. Unfriendly staff. Breakfast oke.

Standard room awful, do not recommend

Rude and nonchalant staff.
Lunch (omelette)was served 90 minutes after we ordered it.
Room was a dump. Looked like staff quarters and dodgy steps going down to them.
Our room was not ready at three pm as stated. We had been waiting patiently for three hours prior as our flight was very early. That wasn't a problem but the staffs attitude towards us at three pm when we stated we were dissatisfied that the room wasn't ready at the time stated. The cleaning staff were short staffed and working hard. Paid them a large tip as they got our room ready as soon as they could. management was the problem.
No iron available at reception.
The breakfast was the only positive. Lots of choice and croissants were warm and fresh.
Better at 8 before the queue starts. 
Would not stay here again.

Poor customer service

Our intention was to travel from Maastricht to Aachen, but on the day we were due to depart to Aachen, we received news that anyone from The Netherlands could not stay in Germany overnight without corona test papers, so a quick search and we found this place at a cheap price.

Our room was very shabby, but clean.  As our booking was last minute, we didn't really have cause for complaint.  It was somewhere to sleep and wash.  We later found out that the block our room is in is normally for employees during peak seasons.

A friend of ours changed his room after one night due to issues with the shower and TV, but that was no issue to swap.

Sleep quality isn't too great.  I heard people moving around at 4am as the walls were quite thin and I struggled to get back to sleep after that.

Breakfast was included and you have to go at a set time to ensure there is no overcrowding through the current situation.  However, only on the Sunday was this enforced and checked.  Otherwise, we were just told to take a seat.  There was plenty to choose from for breakfast and it sets you up for the day.

I don't think I would stay here again as it was just an emergency booking, but it's good if you need somewhere cheap to stay while in the area.

Ok for an emergency stay

The rooms were huge! Walking distance from everything. In room Jacuzzi, new bed and also a pillow menu...so to speak:-)
For breakfast a buffet with many options. When I return this is where I will stay.

New Addition and old Charm

For a hotel that claims to have 3stars, I was appalled. Now, I'm not one of these people who pays for 3star and expects a 5star service, but I do expect to get what I pay for. Sadly, not the case here. 
TV was broken, by broken, I'm talking smashed screen. Reported it to reception, nothing was done.
Then there was the shower, which at best, was temperamental. Went from freezing to scorching and held up with a broken coat hanger! Lack of water pressure, non existent at one point!
The carpets are frayed and need replacing, not to mention and introduction to a hoover.
It's like the staff were just uninterested. The only reason it's getting a mark of 1 on here is because I can't give 0 and the breakfast makes it worth 1.
3 stars, if I was in a good mood, I'd give it 1*.

Valkenburg's worst hotel

A really nice place for two, we relaxed totally in the thermal bath while enjoying the View of autumn forest! So many various sauna with clear instruction boards. 
Friendly stuff in the whole area. Recommended for whom need a weekend out! Only pay attention to the special days of swimming suits allowed. 

Great escape destination! 

We stayed at the hotel when we visited for the pink pop festival, room was nothing fancy but clean and comfortable, breakfast was plain and simple only hot food was boiled eggs or scrambled eggs but there were cold meats and tinned fruit, yoghurt and plenty of different types of bread and spreads.. Plenty of orange juice and tea’s n coffee.. We were downstairs at the side of the hotel where the cars drive to the car park so it was a bit noisy at times.. My only grievance throughout the weekend was the house keeping staff they don’t allow you much time to get decent once they knock on the door, they knock then enter nearly got caught out a few times 😳 apart from that our stay was good. If your not looking for anything fancy but clean and comfortable then Hotel 2000 will
Suit you but I would try shop about for better rates as we thought it was quite expensive for a 3star basic hotel it may just have been because the festival was on so might be cheaper at other times.

Pink pop weekend

Went on a trip with a party of different aged people.  My room at the back in the new part was ok - bathroom was a bit cavernous with a huge door.  The main building was old, worn out and dangerous.  Metal strips on the already dodgy stairs, rooms with electric wiring showing, twin rooms only meant for one bed, plastic meat for breakfast with eggs from the previous day.  Our coach had it's fuel siphoned off in the car park.  The evening meal was something bought from the Aldi down the road - nothing authentic.  Would stay well clear.
