The room was reasonable for the price, but I found the service of the man in the reception in the morning to be awful (the older man at afternoon/night shift is very nice though). 

I asked if I could leave my luggage with them after checkout as I was leaving by a night bus but he refused to hold it past 4pm. 

I tried to reason with him if it was possible to leave it until my bus time as in my experience this is a standard service provided by all hotels and hostels but he flat-out refused, saying, “if you need it to be held past 4pm, you can’t leave your luggage here.” I was very disappointed by his attitude. I hope they improve their service because based on my experience I would not recommend this place at all.

The Taxi driver and/or locals could not find this hotel.  It does not seem to exist.  I will be requesting my money back.

We had a great stay at Casa Xochimilco. The property is well located just a short walk from the centre of Oaxaca. The street is very quiet. Wifi was fast and shower worked well, good hot water. Bathroom was very small but room was spacious. Kitchen sink and cutlery available in the room. Rooftop terrace available with lovely view. Recommended

Lovely hotel

helpful, friendly staff, very nice safe neighborhood, 10 or 15 minute walk from the oda/occ bus station and the downtown zòcalo, clean spacious room, everything needed to cook and keep your food. not only would i recommend this to a friend, i already have recommended it to both friends and fellow travelers.

excellent value

Moved to this hotel from one of the other city centre cheap stays which had no character. This one was a bit away from the city centre, but the rates very cheap and lovely hosts. I think you still need to know how to converse in spanish, as they had no idea of english. The only saving grace was my friend Edgardo whose spanish helped me such much.

Better than the others!

The owner was very nice, they carried our bags, called taxis, provided us with directions, activities around, information about the town, and even allowed us to use the phone for no charge. They are available 24/7. We lost our room keys and at 2 in the morning he came down and open for us. The rooms are very simple, and only has the basics. There is a small stove in which you can cook (didnt use it) and a tiny refrigerator. The rooms are small and the beds hard. No restaurant available and the terrace is small but are able to see part of the town.

Nice room, clean and simple

This hotel is a great choice if you are looking for a family-style place that feels more like a home because it actually is a home. It's about a 15 min walk from town and is located in a quiet neighborhood. The staff / family are very friendly and accommodating. It's helpful to know some Spanish because they spoke no English to me ( except for one family member who greeted me when I arrived but then left town; apparently to San Francisco where I'm from!).
