Big dormitory, but some lockers are broken. Mosquito nets are on, so windows can be opened, however, the street is quite noisy.
There are fans, but nights can be really hot with closed windows.

The bathoom is clean and spacious; as well as the dorm and public area.

A light breakfast is provided with coffee and toast. Snacks and drinks available 24 hours.

I loved the staff - always happy to help you, always smile, making me feel, I came back home!

Great location - end of Paseo Montejo, 10 minutes walk from the main square.

My only, but big complaint is the bed: the mattress is really old, and / or soft, I could literally feel the slats.

Room can get really warm if windows are kept close. 
Some lockers are broken.

Good value for the money

We had one of the room next to the lobby.
If you plan to sleep in this hostel, then you might  change your plans.
There is a window on the street (lots of cars) and a wooden  window on the lobby.
There are people  coming back all night long. The employee starts the washing machine at midnight and doesn't see the problem.
So there is a big problem with Respect.
I wouldn't recommend it except if your here for partying. 

The room is pretty  and the location pretty good but... 

I stayed at the hostel part of the area and when I came in the floors were filthy. The guy before me has been there for about 6 days and said the floors haven't been swept or moped when he was there. 
The bathroom sinks were clogged so the water floods everytime you wash your hands.
The staff were pretty rude, I showed up 15 minutes before the 3 pm check in time and he said " you're too early but I will check you in anyways".
The showers have really bad pressure but the beds are pretty comfy. 
In the hostel part though there's only two fans that you can use that aren't the ceiling fans so if there is more than 2 people in the room, some people will have to suffer through the hot night 


Somewhat comfy, very cheap but dirty

although this is a beautiful hostel with comfortable and clean rooms i have to leave a negative review. we arrived early on a sleeper bus with the room pre booked for three nights. since i made the booking i sent two emails asking if it would be possible to have an early check in but i received no reply. we arrived at about 7.30 and rang the doorbell, an extremely unwelcoming man opened the door and i told him we had a reservation. he just said no check in until 3pm and started to close the door on me. i had to stop him and ask to leave our bags. once inside i asked to use the bano and went upstairs. i could see a room already prepared so once down stairs i asked again if we could check in and he said no the room isn't ready. these conversations took place in my bad spanish, but when i attempted to say there is a room upstairs ready he was apparently fed up with my attempts and just waved his hand toward the door to leave while saying 'a las tres' over and over. so we were kicked out for eight hours. when we got back the room they put us in was the one that was ready that morning. i know that early check ins are normally not allowed but when i had emailed twice and the fact that the room was already prepared was extremely disappointing. this hostel is also very far from the parque central. can't say i liked the vibe there either. not recommended, especially if arriving after a sleeper bus.

unfortunately bad

This hostel is in a good location to the Museo de Antropologia and Noches Mexicanas fiesta on the weekend. We were disappointed on several other fronts though. We had booked a room with a double bed but they gave us a windowless twin room bed near the communal showers instead and the beds were uncomfortable. The prices for each room are the same so I think you would need to be very clear about this. Also even though we had communicated that we would be arriving in the early morning due to the overnight bus ride, they allowed us to keep our luggage there until the room was ready but kicked us out into the street at 7am in the morning instead of allowing us to sit on the sofa until the shops and cafes opened. Lastly, we were disappointed with the meagre breakfast. My advice is to look for somewhere more caring and honest.
