The pictures are outdated, nothing to do with the reality. The place is filthy and toilets are disgusting. In Covid times, please do not go there!
They asked for the payment before seeing the room so we had no other choice than staying. Advert very deceiving.
We ended up leaving and finding another place. Quite stressful situation if you arrive late.
The beds are very old and with the springs coming out.
Many good reviews but if you book a room from this place, you will certainly regret it. 
It is located in an area that have many decent hotels/ hostals for a similar price.

The worst place I stayed!! Really terribli esperience

I spent 2 nights in the hostel Ermita in nice mixed dorm for the ladies which has 2 inside bathrooms, it is spacious with 7 beds, no crowed. Just matress wa very ncomfortable. Place owns a nice yard with a small pool. Kitchen is missing some dishes, plates and glasses are of plastics and bit damaged and dirty, not usable. The stuff was polite and helpful, a guy gave me good tips where to eat cheap. Is possible to leave the luggage at the reception after check out and pend some more hours around Merida.  Location is near ADO Came bus station, 5-10 min walk but outside the center, some 20 min walk which is not a problem just walking during the night after 10 pm is bit creepy, no people outside in that area, some streets are dark but had no inconvenience. Ok for a short and budget stay.

Nice budget place outside the city center

Beautiful hostel, spacious, clean, included breakfast was good, and in good location too! i was in the room with no aircon and it was not ideal for the summer, should have put aircon in every room and charge a little more i think that would be better. no complaints, had a good stay! friendly staffs, thanks :)

Good value for money

They know they have a horrible mosquito problem. If you are in the dorms, good luck sleeping more than 10 minutes at a time. No nets, but they offer to give you a can of RAID to spray around your room. This place is not nice.

Mosquito Infestastion

This hostel was really cheap, and we managed to get a room with AC (not all rooms have it!) but it is FULL of mosquitos. Doors are always open and there aren’t any bug nets/doors, which should really be essential in Merida (the home of he mosquito). Breakfast isn’t great, but it is included - get up early if you want options. Pool is good, especially in the heat and there is a kitchen tucked away. Not 100% on the staff, they laughed at us a lot when we entered but from the little Spanish I know we didn’t say anything funny, I mean, we were quite sweaty which I suppose could be laughed at, but maybe not in 37 degree heat. FYI they do have lockers in the rooms. 

Good for one night

One of the cheaper options in Merida but value for money. Just 3 blocks from the bus station and an easy walk into the centre. Cheap eats nearby if you don't want to cook.
Rooms are simple but clean, each bed has its own plug socket, lockers (own padlock), kitchen available, swimming pool and free breakfast.
Only criticism, possibly have a waste paper bin in the room. 

Value for money 

I booked a single individual room and when I arrived they tried to trick me telling me it was actually a dorm but when they found out I knew spanish very well they decided to respect my single individual room reservation.  It was only one night so it wasn't "convenient" for them but I am so thankfull they decided to respect my reservation and the young girl was nice but her mom gave me a look so horrific I would never look her way again.

My experience at Hostal La Ermita was great! The thing that surprised me the most was the freshly cut fruit every morning. The staff members were very friendly. I would go back if I ever decided to visit Merida again. My first experience staying in a hostel couldn't have been any better.

Best 1st experience ever!!

At least 15 min walk from city center. Plugs next to beds, they however are mostly unreachable, exactly at mattress level...Although there is a lot of space, common kitchen is tiny. Nevertheless, staff is friendly and the hostel is clean.

+ Very nice place, big room with good ventilation. Super clean. Friendly staff. - a little far from downtown (30 min walk). Staff only speak Spanish.No kitchen, not even fridge or microwave.
