This was our first stay at Mayan Palace. We had the best time and so did our girls 8yr and 5yr. Our oldest took the pizza  making class with her grandpa and Jose from the JOY SQUAD made it the best! They had a great time. Jose was also our instructor for a yoga class and our family of 4 had the best time! Jose was great with our girls and they loved all the activities!

Jose from the Joy squad was amazing! He was so accommodating for the whole family at yoga. He helped my father in law and daughter make pizza in a class. It was delicious!They’ve been eating it all week. He is always making sure the kids have something fun to do and even give them some candy. The trip would not have been as fun without Jose. We will recommend this place to every one of our friends.

Go to Mayan Palace and find Jose!

Thanks Vidanta Joy Squad for a great time. My esposa and I had a great time. The activities were much fun I like the activities make your bracelets it's awesome tanks Paulina y Jose for everything see you next year for play more activities and play Texas Holden one more time

The food was good. They have been under construction for years. It is noisy, not only because of construction, they have little or no insulation & you can hear everything both inside & out! The staff is limited & although they do their best, they cannot do everything.

If they offered me a free plane ticket, paid for the room, and gave me all-inclusive, I wouldn't go.  There is one tower.  End of March and there is maybe 40 people staying there.  One pool bar from 11 to 6. One restaurant. The valet lost my CPAP machine -  he didn't get it out of the trunk of the cab with the rest of the luggage.  I asked for an extra room simply for the bed so my wife could sleep.  I was told they were "full."  I asked the night clerk, and he said they had plenty of room.  I had to tell them to look on their security camera to find the taxi.  They found the driver who simply said he didn't have it and that was it.  I asked to file a police report and was told they would help me.  The day before checking out I was told I'd have to go to town and file one on my own.  The "no pressure" 90 minute presentation was 3 hours and they left mad.  Did they really think I was going to buy there??

Would NEVER return

Hotel was a total rip-off financially. Used 86, 000 RCI points and then they charged 600 plus us as additional and unexpected costs. It worked out to 365 Canadian per night. Large rooms but little balcony facing to the street and parking lot. Not able to do any cooking and so had to eat out for the whole week. Restaurant has a decent menu but very high prices. Choose a different place to stay in Mazatlan,

Vidanta Rip-off 

 

I had visited other Vidanta properties couple of times before. But this one, in no way is a Mayan Palace. 

It is an older 70 units hotel, that had number of names before it became a Mayan Sea Garden.  Now, after changing the name to a “Palace” Vidanta charge hundred if dollars in “Resort Fees”. It’s a real Rip-Off. Particularly that Vidanta demands those fees much before your arrival, and if canceled only 50% is refundable. Just one word to describes it: a hutzpah. 

Half of the units face a very noisy road. Location is very bad. Far from anywhere, and nowhere to walk. You can’t enjoy the sea due to high currants, and the water in the pool is very cold. The occupancy was quite low, what probably had an effect on few activities, that became worthless. As an entertainment you had singing water pipes, and vents, not mentioning the noise from the street. Their herb garden was completely dry, and dead. Internet was very slow, and it took like 20 minutes to get some hot water. 

The staff was very pleasant, but nobody was wearing face covers, and almost nobody knew any English.  

On my arrival I was placed in the unit on the 8th floor facing the road. Right above my head there was an awful noise, reminding a laundry machine.  Not being able to fall asleep, about 1 AM I called the service. They arrived quickly, confirmed the noise, and for the next two hours were unable to solve the problem. For rest of the night, at 3 AM I was moved to other room, also on the road side. But again, because of the noise from the road (particularly motorcycles) I didn’t sleep at all that night. Only in the morning, when the manager had arrived, I was moved to the opposite side on the second floor.  My view was right on the roof of the lobby; to the left constructions of their second tower, and to the right on semi demolished buildings, remaining me pictures of the war in Ukraine. 

My recommendation: DON’T GO THERE.

Vidanta Rip-Off

great place, wonderful service! the rooms are very clean, everything works fine. the only thing I saw as a problem is that wi fi sucks. most of the time it is unbelievably slow and for long periods of time it just doesn’t work. but I really came here on vacation, so it helped us be off-line for a while

everything great, just one detail

First time visiting Mayan Palace at Mazatlan and had a great time. Being at the pool made it refreshing for us since it was extremely hot; activities with Darynca had us entertain very much, she a rockstar. Darynca is someone who should be in every resort we go to since she come is fun, outgoing, friendly and charismatic with many game ideas. We appreciate her hard work with Vidanta making a big smile in every client she sees. Jesus the pool waiter was great excellent service, brought all the food for us on time and answered all our food questions. Also, there was one lifeguard named Daniel walking around the pools making sure kids and adults were safe at all times by approaching  us with a great smile making us feel secure.
