Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Centara Ras Fushi and Spar Resort in the Maldives. What a fantastic place for a restful time. It is about a 30 minute sea taxi ride from Mali airport. From arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, who were all extremely friendly and helpful; from the staff on the front line to the workers brushing the beach etc, they all spoke when we passed them. We had a beach bungalow, which was lovely and serviced extremely well. It also had an outside jacuzzi bath which was a surprise and gave us a lovely relaxing jacuzzi bath after a hard day sunbathing and swimming. Our house boy, Montol was so friendly, we celebrated our wedding anniversary whilst there and came back to our room on the day to find he had decorated the bed with a heart shape of flowers and leaves; we didn’t want to remove it to go to bed in the night. There was also a bottle of cava and a cake with “ Happy Anniversary “, all very much appreciated and unexpected. We went on three snorkelling trips one of which I was nervous getting in the sea due to the water depth but was encouraged by the two lads, Ibraheim and Lilo, on the boat from Best Dives, one of whom swam with me throughout while I hung on to the life ring for confidence. I was so pleased I was able to do so as, apart from the colourful fish, he pointed out two turtles. The shark snorkelling was amazing. We swam amongst 6-8 foot gentle nurse sharks; with the added bonus of also seeing stingrays and spinner dolphins. The sea and the pools are so warm, they were like walking into a bath. At 5pm every evening at The View bar you can watch the black tip sharks being fed usually looked on by the Heron who was often around hoping for some tit bits himself. We had a 90-minute massage, which we highly recommend, so much so that we returned the following week for another. There are four restaurants to choose from to eat. Three of which were a-la-cart; an Italian, a Thai and an Arabic. The fourth being a buffet restaurant which served breakfast, lunch and evening menus. The food in each of them was delicious with good choice, the servers all friendly, Yaya and Naz to mention a few, sorry not able to remember the names of the others. The deserts were delicious and when I complimented them and asked if they were all made on site was introduced to the head pastry chef Tiron, who then made a desert especially for us , very much appreciated. We felt like royalty. On departure several staff waved our sea taxi off which was a nice touch and end to a very memorable lovely holiday. If you are looking for a holiday which is relaxing and like being spoilt this is the holiday for you.,
