We are very happy that we chose Thoddoo as our place to stay in Maldives and Beach View guest house made our stay on this island very pleasant. 
Now - it wasn´t the best hotel we´ve ever stayed in but the friendly stuff made it all better. The room was REALLY simple - but you don´t spend much time there so it doesn´t really matter that much. 
We had a full-board package and I recommend this option because it´s very comfortable to have breakfast/lunch/dinner arranged. The food is very basic but it´s understandable, given that they have to import everything from other countries.
The activities are a little too expensive (compared to other guest houses I checked). Also, it would be really nice to have some more amenities in the room (such as hangers, hair dryer, shower gels...). Those are just small details that would´ve made it better but overall, it was a nice stay there and I can happily recommend it to you as well.

Very good value for money

I chose this guest house based on the good reviews and especially because the previous reviews said that Adhu is so nice and caring to his guests. Only in hindsight I realized that the last two praising reviews are from women. And that was also my experience. Overall, Adhu and his employee Amir focused much more on the women which I found unprofessional and left me with mixed feelings.

The female guests were really taken care of. They received fruits and coffee, offered excursions like night snorkeling, were picked up from the beach on the motorbike or enjoyed a party on their last night. I as a man got only fruits or coffee when a woman was at the table and I knew about the night snorkeling only because a female guest asked me whether I also like to join. In addition, my female friend did not have to pay a credit card surcharge but Adhu insisted that I have to pay if I pay by credit card.

One evening Adhu and his employee Amir were alone with me without women when they ignored me and were busy with their phones.

Furthermore, Adhu applies a Ruffiya-USD rate of 16.50 if you want to pay in Ruffiya which is 7% above the official rate of 15.42. This is the first time after visiting almost 20 Maldivian islands in two months that a guest house owner did not use the official rate.

Breakfast is in Adhu’s brother’s restaurant which is about 15 minutes walking. Contrary to the name of the guest house, there is no beach view. On the positive side, the rooms are big, you can use bicycles to go around and snorkeling gear is provided free of charge. Snorkeling is great near the guest beach where you can see turtles every day and scrawled filefishes among many others fishes.

Women are treated very well, man less

I stayed here for 3 nights and I had a very pleasant stay. The room was great, the bathroom was clean and there was aircon and wifi. The guest house has a nice terrace and a spacious sandy backyard which are perfect to relax. The staff are kind and very helpful. All in all, I had a great experience in this guest house and I highly recommend it.

Great place to stay and comfortable beds

My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay. It is a peaceful guesthouse located in the middle of Thoddoo. It is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, beaches, etc. The room is spacious and has a comfortable bed, a TV, an aircon, a fan, a small fridge and a big bathroom. It’s very complete and cosy. Many thanks to the staff for the good care they took of us and going the extra mile to pick us up from and drop us to the harbour!

Beautiful guest house with a nice backyard

I don’t usually write reviews here & if I am writing one , I realy mean what I say ... Adhu was quick in responding to my queries & we were picked up from the ferry terminal .... Thoddo is bigger than Rashdoo where I spent 5 days walking around the tiny island ... However with Adhu our host , he made it easy for us ... He showed us Thoddo in his bike , took us to beaches to show bioluminescent, brought fruits and we spoke for long hours .... It felt like we were more of a friends.... He will go out of his way to do the arrangements & help his guests .Our room was very spacious & clean... Wish I could stay longer ....
