It is not safe place for girl's travel . i meet snatch thief around 8pm , The street are quiet and light street is not working. Receptionist are not always in counter because this hotel is really cost saving

unsecured security for surrounding environment

Location of the hotel is close to many food eateries..eg the dim sum shop (mingge and Fu Shan Lou)  and Night food market at dessert street (10 mins) walk. The sound proof of the hotel not too fantastic as you can hear the opposite pub singer singing. Although the room is called shamrock gardens, actually it's also shamrock guest house. 

Not bad location 

Look simple from the outside; but when u step in...take the steps to level 1; it’s like u step into new place...Irish concept interior, clean, neat, cool names on each rooms! 

My room were spacious, I came with my nephew...2 queen beds, comfy bed!!!

Awesome place...very recommended!!!

We arrived at 7.30pm at the hostel. We found a letter that we should call a Phone number for check in instructions. We dont have a malaysian sim so we had to search for someone to call. After 10 min of misunderstandings on the Phone we could enter. The room was very spacious with very comfy bed. Bathroom also good. Didnt hear any noises during our stay. Guesthouse looks very nice in Ireland theme. WiFi in the room was very bad. The frigde went off when we left the room so it was a bit useless. Waterheater didnt work. Also we didnt see any staff (or other Guests) in 3 days

Good stay but no service 

You can feel the difference between others hotels and home stay. It just feel like you are staying at home.

Had it all

I was having stay for a night in Shamrock, with the double room.
The location is good, and easily access to the Ipoh famous restaurants like Fo San dim sums and a few shopping centres.
The only concerns were the bathroom, which is too small, the shower water pressure is too low. It takes longer to bath and can't bath properly, like it was so frustrated just to wash my hair...
Apart from this, we also saw some stains on the bed sheet, and maybe due to no window in the room, poor air ventilation has caused unpleasant smells in the room when we walked in the room.
The hotel might also need to improve on sound proof wall. We are annoyed by the poor sound proof from the neighbors, people walking in the corridors, etc... 

The rest are fine, we will consider stay in the future, but maybe will book for larger rooms...

Average Stay in this hotel

I brought a team of 94 students. Shamrock fitted us well. My 70 students stayed at the main quarter and another 24 stayed at another quarter which is just 200m in walking distance away. The rooms are small but clean, just nice to fit us. Shower is good, and we are happy that we could secure the place entirely. Location is good too, walking distance to 7-11 and famous dim sum place. Thank you Shamrock for accommodated us well!

I booked two rooms. the space not comfortable. so small room. not value for money. there was no electric from 5 am to 7.30 am. when I told her about this, she said just 10 minutes only no electric. no reception after 8pm

We book the family room with garden at Shamrock guest house hq.

Location is nice, room is nice too for the budget hotel at this price.

But the all the pillow cover, blanket and bedsheet has black dots and dirty.
