We visited the place in okt 2014. I write this review just to follow up on current reviews of 2015. When we visited the place was already bad and looked like it wouldnt take much longer for it to turn into terrible. And apparently it did from what I read.

When we were there the food was poor and on one occasion they made us eat at the hotel next door. They called it 'local food'... we heard 'no chef in the kitchen'. Room was full of ants and smelled moldy. Hotel transfer was in a staff member's old car and transfer from the jetty to the resort was in what could be at best described as a clown car.

Hotel grounds were ok but beach terrible.

Pls avoid at all cost

Saw this coming...

Hotel will change rooms arrangement without informing clients. I booked an executive deluxe rm at S$198 per night for for persons, but on my check-in  at 6.30pm, they insisted on giving me two twin rooms at S$57 each and belonging to the sun yi spa and resort and not the sun yi villas management. On top of that,the rooms come with VERY VERY FILTHY bathrooms, with urine leaking from the ceiling  directly above. You won.t have a chance to swim in the pool cause it is just as dirty. Local guests swim there with normal attires and head gears even with sign board showing 'NOT Allow'. Don't bother to try to call their telephone lines cause, nobody will pick up your call or fax or email. We just came back from there on 11th August 2015. Stay three very uncomfortable nights. This is the first and last time I booked with Expedia. Their customer service cannot assist in the matter. Both Expedia and hotel are all out to deceive and fleece us.

We booked in October for our July stay and I am sure this resort was as good as reviewed back then. We booked directly with Sun Yi for the all inclusive package. We were slightly concerned when our emails were not responded to in the last couple of weeks and a little more concerned when the eventual response was from Jarejak Resort and not Sun Yi. We were increasingly concerned when picked up by Jerejak resort driver over 2 hours late and after boat transfer were asked to check in at the Jerejak resort before being taken up to Sun Yi. The villas are a disgrace and the surroundings have not been attended to for weeks...maybe months. There is no staff, no ammenities in the room and the pool is thick green slime. The bar area around the pool has not been cleaned for a long time and is full of rubbish, dirty dishes and bugs etc. again please know there is no staff at all! We walked down to the Jerejak and asked for a refund and boat to leave. This was a slow process and we could actually see the hidden embarrassment. In the three hour wait we were able to establish that all the staff had left quite a while ago. Alma (the previous manager) who we had booked with had resigned and the Jerejak resort had been trying to maintain the Sun Yi. This accommodation should be removed until it is brought back to at least a basic standard and it is so very wrong that they are taking bookings with the current situation. The Jerejak resort staff are looking after both and believe me you don't want to go there. I have photos and will post them if I can but Please don't book! It wasted a day of our holiday and was so upsetting as we were really looking forward to the stay and it disturbed us for days that this could happen and people could allow this. Tears and all ...we are fairly relaxed people and are fairly realistic and understanding but this is wrong. Shame on the owners of Sun Yi Villas...please let your future guests know the true situation and change your website until you are up and running again.

My sister, bestie and I wanted to have a girls night out and we thought it be nice to spend a night here.  Turned out to be a disaster and nightmare.  The worst ever service I experienced.. being also in the hospitality industry, I think I know a thing or two about service.  Staffs were unfriendly and unpleasant and disrespectful... We were very disappointed.  Especially this particular staff a.k.a F&B MANAGER MR.Rao ( I think he has to sent for P&R training) it will definitely be my first and last, definitely not worth spending that much and u get a crappy treatment.  My sister definitely had a "great" birthday celebration indeed..

Terrible is probably underated

I booked for this villa on July and i have a request about to ask them but i already called for 3days they never answer the phone call so i called to the Rainforest hotel which is next door the villas and ask for their help cause i am about to called for 3days and send 3email to the villas but there is no respond at all.When i left my message for the staff they even can mention my name in the email they have recieved and they promise to get the sales person to get back to me ASAP but until 2days i also didn't get back anything for the villas. i am really disappointed to this villas, i just wonder how good service is that...
