This hotel was the most welcoming on my whole trip to Japan. The guy at the reception who probably was the owner tried his best on English even when having limited vocabulary. So it was a nice conversation at check-in. Officially check-in time is 4pm but you get the room as early as it’s ready. The rooms are somewhat old but perfectly clean. Up to Japanese standards they have a tea set, a fridge and bathroom amenities. An internet cable is available at the reception. Unfortunately no WiFi. If I come back to Kokura on a tight budget I would definitely come back to this place.
