The hotel itself is a very old links golf course hotel but very well-maintained and the rooms are up-to-date. Inside the hotel you have the feeling of the early ages when Golf became popular around the world. It has a colonial touch. 

The hotel is basically on the quite high standard of Prince Hotels. 

Absolutely outstanding and without a doubt higher than the usual good service in Prince hotels is the hospitality and services provided by all of the staff. If you ask for any assistance, they will try very hard to meet your demands. 

The 2 adjacent golf courses are certainly some of the best golf courses on the Pacific. The Fuji Course is very famous, but I personally prefer the Ojima course where you usually can drive in the fairways with the cart. Don’t ask me about my lousy score, not the hotel to blame. 

Always a pleasure

I live nearby and frequent this hotel for lunches with visitors.  There's a lovely sun room for sandwiches and desserts, or the golfers' grill with superb service and an excellent menu.  If you go during the cherry blossom season the surrounding coast and mountains offer great views of sakura dotting the landscape.  Golf either the Fuji course or Oshima course for wonderful views and challenging holes.

Comfortable hotel tho a bit dated. Good room .Beautiful scenery. Golf was well organized. Oshima course a little tricky - blind shots. In good condition. Did not play the Fuji course.  The outdoor swimming pools were good but no drinks or food served. There was billiards and table tennis.
The  restaurants were expensive. Reservations were needed even for breakfast. If you want to eat elsewhere you can go to Kawana or Ito in a taxi.


Quiet comfortable hotel with golf

Over the past 25 years have used this course sits out on the Ito Hanto peninsula just south of Tokyo about an hour by Bullet Train Andorra local Express train Situated upon elevated cliffs over the Pacific Ocean has 36 holes many of the holes have spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean about $200 to $300 us per round depending on the season and the package you can arrange

A wonderful historical hotel.  Yes, certainly some minor upgrades could be helpful, but the wonderful history and beautiful location more than make up for it.  The Kawana Hotel was the honeymoon destination for Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio.  The rooms are nice and the staff is lovely.  Getting to the resort requires a train change at the Atami station to Ito.  If you call ahead you can book their free shuttle from the Ito station (just across the street).  As with other places outside of Tokyo, English is slightly more challenging, but planning ahead should alleviate any concerns.  This area is a major vacation destination for the Japanese and they love the area for good reason and the amazing golf!  There is also a wonderful spa and hot spring.
