It was everything we expected and more! Great stay, service, and excellent food! Words can’t describe how much we enjoyed our stay.

The service was amazing! They intentionally made us feel welcome in every way possible. 

Everything was clean and kept immaculately for our entire stay. 

I have a good allergy and the chef and staff made sure to accommodate me.

Relaxing, stress free stay!

We rented the Hermitage House over Thanksgiving 2024 and were impressed from the moment we got there right up until we left.  The staff was exceptional, making sure all needs are taken care of even before you realize you have a need.  The grounds are impeccable.  Leaves are raked several times a day and the pool is kept after just as much.  The resort is very safe and very clean, all the paths are raked daily as well.  I really want to emphasize how impressive the staff was.  The nanny was great with our kids who were 3 and 8, our butler was very friendly and took extra care with our kids making sure they were having fun, the night butler was great, the chef was excellent and made us some authentic Jamaican dishes.  We even spent some time with the owners who were fantastic, interesting people.  We travel quite often and there are rarely places we want to return to and I can honestly say that Bluefields Bay is a place we will return to.

Exceptional Experience

Upon arrival I knew I was about to experience something special. The winding path led us through a beautifully blooming jungle to our private suite, equipped with all the amenities needed to fully decompress. Special touches like fresh flowers throughout, magazines, drinks already in the fridge and aloe just in case. For me the it wasn’t the unbelievable view of the ocean from atop of our jungle Hideaway, it was the staff. Every morning, I woke to my coffee waiting just outside the door. Every meal was curated just for us, the chef greeted us with the most mouth watering creations, breakfast lunch and dinner all were amazing. We had the most attentive-butler who made sure our every need was met. Each excursion was planned without any effort on our part, right down to a linen tablecloth picnic at the YS waterfall. This place is truly what dreams are made of! This place truly blends beauty, relaxation and luxury all in one incredible place!

Blown away by Bluefields Bay

What a wonderful, relaxing, luxurious vacation. We had 3 generations pampered in our elegant house by a staff like no other! The attention to detail and personal touches made our stay comfortable and easy. The cook was wonderful, housekeeping and nanny all became part of our family - so sad we had to leave them behind! Hope to be going back again soon.

Luxury and Elegance

Beautiful house, beautiful furnishings and antiques, wonderful attention to detail, meals felt very special sitting down with the candlelight gleaming on the silver. Good cook and great butlers. Stunning views from every window, felt privileged to be staying there.

Our trip to Bluefields Bay Villas was spectacular. The accommodations, food and service were superior. Our family of 12 (6 adults and 6 children) had our every need met at Mullion Cove. Kate gave us excellent advice and helped with planning details. She even did a photo shoot. We mostly hung out at our pool and beach enjoying tropical drink concoctions while the children made good use of equipment. Also, we enjoyed snorkeling, river boat ride, YS Falls, horseback riding, private tennis lesson and in house spa services. The best part for us was the wonderfully warm and helpful nannies, butlers and staff who took great care of us during our stay.

Spectacular Jamaican 50th Anniversary Trip

Our Bluefields house was incredible. From the delicious and gorgeous meals to the well-equipped beach with warm water to the fun and hard working staff, the entire stay was memorable and like no other.

Fabulous stay

A magical experience and quite the best family holiday we have had. 
Facilitated by an incredible location, fantastic architecture, amazing food, and wrapped around with wonderful care and service of the highest quality - and yet with a family feel. This was an all round success. The beach and facilities were great, and the three incredible meals together each day prompted deep and easy conversation across the family, across generations and more. From the baby in the party to the Grandparents, all 9 of us had a special time - and a memorable one. Thanks Bluefields we will see you again.

A Magicl Family Break

There isn’t really a way to adequately describe how wonderful an experience we had at Bluefield’s Bay.  Whether it was the accommodations, the food, the service, everything  was of the finest quality.  The residence and staff made us feel as comfortable and welcome as we have ever been on any vacation.  Peaceful and easy without compromising any quality.  Simply the finest experience we have ever had traveling.

Perfect blend of luxury and comfort.  An impeccable experience in all ways.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property with our family of 5 consisting of 3  young adult children.   We first stayed during Covid 2021.  On both occasions, we stayed at San Michele.  This is a villa off away from the other villas and offers the upmost privacy.     Bluefield's is absolutely a 5 star with food, service and overall experience.   The staff can be as much of your daily life as you would like them to be or will be away  if that is what you prefer.  On our second stay in January 2023, most of the same members of the staff were there again and we really enjoyed their company and learning a bit about their lives and Jamaica.  They are all wonderful at reading your cues as to how you want them to interact with you.   (or not if you prefer).   We felt part of the Bluefield's family as we had many laughs with everyone that worked there.  
The service here is unreal;  drinks are literally served on a silver platter by the butlers who are AMAZING!!   Anytime you want a drink or whatever you want to drink is available.  The frozen drinks are out of this world and offered any time from morning until evening!  turn down service every night with fresh flowers on your bed as well as different china and silver at the dinner table every night! 
Our chef, Shelly, was really one of the best chefs ever-  the meals she prepared blew us away from her soups, amazing entrees and deserts.  You will always have two choices for lunch and dinner and can specify if you want fish, chicken or beef more often in advance of your trip.  Although most of our party didn't enjoy fish,  I would highly recommend the fresh fish choices.  On one day, jerk chicken is served made by one of the locals.  Also a huge hit with all of us.  You will definitely not go hungry ever at Bluefield's.  All three meals were big meals and then there is happy hour with snacks in the late afternoon. 
If you like to hike, we highly recommend asking for Dave  (a gardener) to take you on a hike in the mountains.   I would rate this as a lower medium level hike and extremely enjoyable.  You do walk through part of a village  with him and he will know everyone; we felt very safe and took our walks on many days.  We also spent a lot of time kayaking which was also wonderful and peaceful.
There is no beach at all at San Michele which is clear from the photos but our mountain hikes made up for it.  The "island" you walk out to on the water is very spacious; all 5 of us had plenty of room in the shade.  There is a beach you can get a ride to or kayak to where the other villas are located.  The beach is pretty small; don't expect any long beach walks if that is your thing.   
On our first trip we all went snorkeling (very fun!)  and a sunset cruise.   We really enjoyed both;  this time around we did not do any excursions and wanted to just relax and enjoy the house and all it offered. 
Housekeeping will do your laundry while you are there;  fantastic to come home with mostly clean clothes!
Although Bluefield's can be considered expensive, there is no way we could get the same value for a family of 5 with the quality of food, service and  unlimited  alcohol anywhere else.     YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AND WILL WANT TO COME BACK EVERY YEAR!
