29 reviewsFamily and extended family spent 3 nights at Garni Trojer. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was terrific. The staff were very helpful and attentive.This is in the middle of the mountains and there are walks and hikes everywhere with amazing scenery and cool fresh air. Campo Tures (aka Sand-in-Tauffers) is an out of the way village in the Dolomite Mountains and it is peaceful and a wonderful place to escape the heat of southern Italy. A rushing river runs right past the hotel and provides a soothing white noise, although traffic noise is almost non-existent. The town has been around for hundreds of years and there is a 1000 year old castle overlooking the town. Most people speak German, although both German and Italian are official languages. Most of the people in hotel, restaurants, and shops speak English well enough to understand what you need. Our 18 year old daughter felt like she was in the middle of a postcard and could not get over the beauty of the countryside and views of the mountains that tower over the village. She described it as Whistler Mountain meets German Epcott Center. I would like to spend at least a week here hiking the trails. Just breathing the clean mountain air makes you feel healthy!
