24 reviewsWe stayed here for 14 days in August. From the moment of arrival the Civale family made us feel more welcome than anywhere else I've ever been on holiday. We were lucky to arrive in the fig and tomato season: we basically lived on the figs and tomatoes from their garden - and then there were the prickly pears that Mama Civale peeled for us, plus her delicious Parmigiana di Melanzane. There are two guest apartments. We had the smaller one with a good-sized kitchen with four gas rings and a microwave, a bedroom with two lounge chairs, bathroom and good-sized balcony. There is also access one floor lower to a large swimming pool. One shares the pool just with the guests of the other apartment and the Civale family. Essentially private! From the street where we parked our (unnecessary) rental car there are 246 steps down to the upper apartment, 260 to the lower apartment. There is a local bus stop at the street that takes you up to Ravello once an hour. The last bus is at 19:15. There are numerous walks back down from Ravello to Torello (the village where Villa En Rose is). And no matter which way you take you will be surprised by the beauty of the views!! We were provided with excellent restaurant recommendations. I recommend Villa en Rose wholeheartedly. You have to like steps. Or just like lying around at a pool with stunning views!!
