My boyfriend and I were looking for a beautiful, but remote place to get away and relax for a weekend. We could not have run into anything better than La Bressanella. The house is absolutely breathtaking, located on a farm in a small, quaint town just along the Ticino river. Arrival was difficult from Milan because Italy does not have very reliable public transportation, but it is possible. With an astounding and attentive host and staff, it was the perfect choice. All facilities were clean and cozy and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend for anyone looking to get away for a weekend.

Secret piece of heaven in the Italian countryside

Very difficult to find and long dirt driveway to the house. The rooms themselves were large but not too comfortable. The breakfast was sparse at best with bought pastries and no fresh fruit which we had at many other B&B's we have stayed throughout Italy.

Off the beaten path

my partner and i booked for week there but unfortunately we dont drive so we left on the monday for more central hotel but la brassenella was absolutely lovely would recommend it to anyone who has a car as bit isolated but cant fault it or the owner in anyway

We booked this place at the absolute last possible minute, as we needed someplace to stay for a day before our departure from Milan Malprensa Airport. We decided on it solely on price, and based on the fact that it was relatively near to the airport, as we had a morning flight. I didn't look at any reviews, which I normally like to do, so I did feel like we were taking a chance. But I was so pleasantly surprised; as my title states, La Bressanella is a gem. WOW!

It was early evening when we arrived and I admit being a little freaked out by how off the beaten path it is.  Once you arrive, however, you will be taken by this stunning centuries-old property updated with contemporary touches, and surrounded by lush greenery. The owner, Jose, greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our room in the tower, which was so cozy and took me back in time. The adjoining bathroom, however, was very modern, and we had access to the balcony which gave us fantastic views of the gorgeous landscape below and around, with the Italian Alps in the distance. 

Jose recommended we check out a beautiful town about 20minutes away called Arona, along Lake Maggiore, to find someplace to eat. And, in the morning, he provided us with a lovely breakfast.  He was so sweet and this place, in my opinion, was a steal for the price. Inexpensive, stunning location, friendly host, fantastic service, fantastic room, convenient to the airport. The only minor downside was the spotty wi-fi.  But we loved it so much, that we would absolutely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a dreamy experience in the Italian countryside.

B&B La Bressanella is a gem!

If you want authentic Italy, this is the place to go. Beautiful, clean and spacious accommodation in a lovely setting. We had a room in 'the tower', so a floor with shower room and balcony to ourselves. It is about a 10-15 minute walk into the village where there is a great pizza restaurant with a real character in charge. But if you want anything else you will have to go a bit further afield by car. It is about 25 mins from Lake Maggiore. The charming owner of La Bressenella Jose could not have been more helpful and took a huge pride in his work. The pool was glorious and morning coffee delicious. Only downside (and you could not blame Jose!) was the weather - but by all accounts, we were unlucky.
