we had a great weekend in Zohar's house- the room is spacious, has everything you need for a vacation. Breakfast was the best we ever had! Hosts very kind and attentive- very willing to help with everything. Location good for a quiet time with someone you love. The panoramic view of the valley and mountains is beautiful.

Two quiet Zimmers, beautify located in Metula with a superb view to the Hula Valley. Clean spacious room, excellent personal, helpful and friendly service by the owners. An excellent Israeli breakfast is served to your room or patio.

This is a pair of Zimmers, of which I will describe only the one we stayed in, that on the right as one enters. It is simply superb. It is composed of a large space, which divides into two, when so desired, by giant sliding doors. These create two separate spaces, a large bedroom and a comfortable sitting room with small kitchenette. For us this possibility of one spouse puttering about in one room while the other spouse naps was a great plus. In addition the Zimmer has its own private garden with lawn, shrubbery, and fruit trees. The Zimmer is located at the southern edge of Metulla, which means you have absolute quiet—which you do NOT get in the center of Metulla—and spectacular views as well.

Everything seems to have been designed perfectly. The giant windows are perfectly positioned for both privacy and astounding views of the Hula Valley. The sliding doors move silently (!) to close hermetically. There is a profusion of places to sit; I counted eight comfortable chairs and a two-seater swing. A large bed made of two first-rate mattresses. Large mirrors where you need them. A ceiling fan that turns almost silently, and does not wobble(!). (We were there in the first couple days of September, and found no need for the air-conditioner, despite the heat wave.) Properly installed screens keep out the insects even when the windows are wide open. Big thick towels. Every detail is tasteful. (Not the "den-of iniquity" décor which seems to be so favored by Zimmer designers.) The place is either brand-new, or extremely well kept up; there is not a scratch anywhere. I could go on and on. (OK, there are two slight imperfections that hardly count—the doors of the shower stall do not exactly match the floor of the stall, so puddles do form; and for some reason the light switch for the bathroom is at the head of the bed instead of near the door where you expect it. Hardly worth the comment.)

There is a shabbat clock. (We had no occasion to use it, so I do not know what it governs.) Metulla's only synagogue is in the town center, a stiff fifteen-minute uphill walk.

The hostess, Zohar, is an interesting woman in her own right. Among other things, she teaches art history in the nearby Tel Hai College. She is generous with advice on touring, when asked.

Our only regret was having planned such a full schedule of touring and hiking—Metulla is well-placed for that—that we did not leave as much time as we would have liked to simply stay in, and enjoy the wonderful Zimmer.
