Our first night in Ireland we spent at Island view and had a relaxing time. It is close to the airport but far enough from Dublin to ease into Ireland. It is within the suburbs. It is very close to the bay, and a short stroll to the nearby city. We really enjoyed the warm, welcoming, friendly staff. They held our luggage and arranged a cab while we finalized our rental car in Swords. Tip: If you are renting a car in Ireland. Do not pick up or drop off at the airport there is a extra cost. Take a cab to Swords and rent from there. After factoring the cab fare both ways it is still less than the extra charge for the airport convenience. We used Island view as our "base camp." In addition our first experience of a full Irish breakfast wow it was hearty and filling. We took our time enjoying the bay across the street while feasting on the breakfast. If you arrive late although Island view's restaurant closes early no worries there are plenty of places nearby or within the city. The local pub is iconic and fills up quickly during happy hour. They have free WiFi. Old world charm hotel. We really enjoyed Island View.
