Very good
2429 reviewsThis was our fifth time here, I had messaged reception asking for a nice room, and Erica quickly responded to my email. Thanks Erica. Room 407 was lovely. We couldn't believe when we looked at old photos we had stayed in it before but it obviously has had an upgrade. Lovely spacious room, an excellent cosy bed, with a beautiful view. Housekeeping was good, and the room was spotless. Fluffy towels and good walk in shower. We did have to go up in the lift and back again as we didn't pick up this room was the executive wing and you have to get lift to first floor and then look for signs to executive wing and get a lift to fourth floor. Overall it was an excellent room, one small point - in the shower, it was really difficult to get shower gel out of the pump. Did mention it to reception but wasn't fixed. Lovely shower gel, but it was so slow trying to get a drop out of it. Breakfast was good on both mornings. No queue first morning, but queue the second morning. Good selection. Plates in the buffet on the first morning were so hot but no napkins to lift the plates. Personally, I thought the breakfast on day two could have been a bit hotter and was lukewarmish. Music in the bar, again better on Friday night than the Saturday night. I noticed Harsh, the manager in the bar, I asked the young man serving would he ask Harsh to drop down to say hello, as we love to see Harsh. He is always very friendly. I was told Harsh was doing paperwork which was a pity as we didn't get to say hello. We love the Grand Hotel, I already see improvements since FBD have took over. Love the pillow spray, ear plugs and eye mask. Lovely touch. The hotel is so central to walk to, best location. We will return. Any points I have added are not criticism just feedback for management. Thank you for a lovely stay.
