Value for money. Staff and owner very nice and friendly. Room basic but comfertable and clean, bit old fashioned . Hubby had full irish breakfast which he enjoyed. Situated in good spot in Ramelton town. Would visit again.

Lennon lodge.

The owner was friendly and the breakfast was fine. But this is certainly not the 'excellent accommodation' stated in the pub's brochure. The double room was too small, the bathroom fittings bodged, and the 'spectacular scenery' mentioned in the brochure was a dirty flat roof and view of another resident's bedroom. If we had paid half the price charged it would have been just acceptable (and only if other choices were not available).  There are no evening meals (the bistro on the quayside is excellent). There is no secure parking (again contradicting the brochure).  perhaps the worst issue was the blatant disregard of legal COVID safety requirements.

Carpets were dirty, no hot water and shower didn’t work properly. There were cobwebs in breakfast room, no WiFi in rooms, only one tv channel worked and a loud generator type noise all night kept us awake. 
Would not stay here again and certainly would not recommend it to others.

Lennon Lodge

Booked here for one night in a triple room - one single and one double.  Friendly welcome, pay upfront (no problem though). Its a bar with darts boards and snooker tables and the accommodation is on the 1st floor. There did not seem to be readily available disabled access. Room was cold but window was open so we closed that. Was also quite small and the soft furnishings were a bit dated. No shower gel in shower. We went out and we arrived back the room was still cold. Next morning we boiled the kettle for 3 cups of tea/coffee to find there were only 2 cups. We decided who should go without and then realised there was only enough milk for 1 cup (really) - there were 2 small pots of uht milk.  We poured the milk in only to find it had curdled. I checked the best before date only to find it was December 2016!!! Bear in mind this is May 2018... so we did without until breakfast. Breakfast was a different story. It was very good, lots of it, musli, cereals etc, toast, wheaten bread, cooked breakfast and the lady serving and cooking was lovely. Very friendly and attentive! I might not need to book accommodation in that area again, but I did, it would be highly unlikely I’d book Lennon Lodge again unfortunately. 

Very basic

We were somewhat worried when we turned up at Lennon Lodge to find a “For Sale” board outside and our concerns were sadly realised when we went inside....

Our rooms were very small and not very clean and a general smell of mustiness pervaded most of the upstairs areas. The bathroom bin had not been emptied in our friend’s room with unmentionables lurking inside......

The minuscule shower with a push button operating system (7 seconds of water at a time) is nothing short of a joke and something I have not witnessed outside of very cheap hostels.

The rooms were not cleaned in the 4 nights we were there and when we asked for replacement towels we were inadvertently supplied with dirty ones - not good!

On our final night a huge party took place directly beneath our room in one of the bars resulting in no sleep until 12.30am when the revellers moved on.

The family were friendly, the breakfast was decent and the bar was OK for a Guinness, however I would could not recommend Lennon Lodge to anyone and would certainly not stay there again.

Hopefully improvements will be made by new owners.



In Decline.......

Nice friendly staff, the bed was fine, decent breakfast and there's a bar downstairs with a pool table.  Unfortunately the tiny bathroom let it down, the shower had a push button that only allows about 10 seconds of water at a time, the first few bursts of water are freezing but it does warm up after about 3 or 4 goes and the shower door was hanging off so I couldn't close it and then the floor gets drenched.  The towels are well worn, there's no shower gel provided so bring your own. The room was very cold on arrival but the heat did come on later. There was some sort of loud generator noise coming from outside that kept me awake.  There was no restaurant or bar food available as expected, we were told food is not served at this time of year - end of September.  Bad Wi-Fi connection. I would not stay here again.

Very basic, terrible shower.

Car impounded by guards outside as owner of hotel mistakenly reported fake number plates. Why an owner would take these steps and have clients cars illegally impounded beats me. Guards apologised and released car after many taxis and phone calls. 

Property recently sold and little care is taken. 5 day visit , room not serviced once. Mattress very lumpy and cheap feeling. Wifi signal non existent in rooms and no local phone signal that can be relied on. Owner barges into room whenever he wants , twice in 24 hours....rooms very outdated and basic.

Hardly the best place for a relaxing weekend . The town itself is pleasant and quite pretty, but its probably best to wait for change of ownership before staying here.
