My daughter, her horse and I stayed at Ross house for the second time last weekend,  we cannot thank you enough for providing a lovely warm welcome to us, a warm, comfortable cozy room for us and a large comfortable cozy stable for our horse. The use of the kitchen facilities worked out perfectly and we all ate well,including our 🐎.  Ross House suited us perfectly for what we were there for and the location was excellent.  Thank you Elenor and family.  We will ve back.

Fantastic

If you want a traditional Irish and friendly place to stay this is one to look at. My husband and I stayed here only last week and the family/staff could not be more accommodating. They provided us with a beautiful piping hot Irish fry up each morning with plenty of fresh beautiful coffee and a decent pot of tea and beautiful brown soda bread and toast and flesh bread. if you wanted anymore tea coffee this was never a problem to this family. Our breakfast was included in our booking.
Our room were very big, clean and tidy and fresh towels delivered to our door each day. I slept like a log each night I was there we were very happy on how comfortable the beds were. The surrounds were breath taking and very quiet and peaceful. No one minded if you fancied a walk around the grounds or to check out the horses. The dogs on the farm and cats were friendly and we saw young children happily gong about to see all the animals.
The owner was about on one of our mornings during our stay and happily chatted to me as the tractor was working in the background getting the wood chopped and ready for the winter. 
This building as I understand it is 450 years old, a gentry styled property with plenty of history no doubt.
We needed transport to our wedding venue which was about 20 minutes drive away, they provided me with a local and well know taxi driver Michael who was really chatty typical Irish style. Im Irish myself so this was home from home. Michael collected us from the house and came back for us later that night with no trouble at all and at very competitive rates considering the recent rise in the cost in living.

I would definitely stay here again at Ross House without hesitation. Nice to see the country style hospitality is still there and what was wonderful about this place was you did not feel like you were staying amongst the rat race life style quite the opposite in fact. Well done to Ross house for your traditional approach to your guests.

No wifi in hotel,took very long for the water to heat up. Weird 1 eyed cat lookin thing following me to my room. The furniture was very out dated and looks like my nanny gaff. There are tvs but they do not work and only has a power lead. Tvs came with 4 remotes but they dont work at all. Tried to put somthing on for my 2 yr old son and 6 yr  old daughter. Broken ducks in the room an it was a mess the beds springs where poking threw the mattress, the head bored kept banging the wall every movement you would make.

Not recommended.

We stayed here for a small family funeral in the area and everyone agreed it was absolutely fantastic. The bedrooms were clean, cozy and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and the animals endearing. We did not avail of the equestrian facilities but we will return when restrictions are lifted for a proper stay. Many thanks for making our stay very special. 


Charming

We loved staying in Ross House. The place is quiet but close to many amenities. We loved canoeing on the lake. The pier is only 200m from the hotel. You can also go to a small beach about 3km from the hotel - short drive, beach is safe for kids. The hosts are super friendly and relaxed. Breakfast was great too. I will gladly go back

The staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Double King Room which was very comfortable and spacious. It had a very nice little conservatory which looked out onto a nice big garden which has plenty of potential. There was plenty of choice for the breakfast and it was very tasty. One day we had our food at a table on the grass in front of the lovely house which overlooks the tennis court where the kids played, many paddocks with horses and the lake. It was extremely picturesque. 
We have not got a bad word to say about our stay but it would be even better if there were more walkways around the lake and land.

This place offers loads of animals, wonderful horse riding, great hearty food and seriously hard working people. Accomodation is great for kids, rustic but great comfy beds. Loads of freedom for the kids. This is not the place for people who don’t like animals or the countryside, however pure heaven for those who do. 
Horse riding needs to be booked as was really busy!

Rustic family friendly and animals galore

My 2 year old daughter llllooved her pony riding experience and that is definetly something that we'll remember. They are very nice for the Equestrian experience. But for the rest, I'm afraid to say we have traveled a lot through Ireland and this is the poorest lodging experience we had. The room was acceptable chilly at first, but they turned off the hit for the building in minus 0 temperature, January, even more so with a child. So we slept with and extrablanket and tight together, left our clothes on. I doubt there were more than 13 or 14 degrees Celsius in that room. In the morning, we didn't shower as there was apparently not hot water. When we went to the lovely breakfast, the manager told us that you have to wait 10 minutes to get the hot water (she didn't see a problem at all in not having let us know about that or the fact itself). There is also no little leaving room or anything of the sort to chat with your family while the baby Sleep upstairs. In sum, and in comparison with many many greatly equipped and warm (in every sense) bnb and hotels in Ireland, its definetly not worth 120 euros a night in a low season. (There wasn't even a sad shampoo in the bathroom). But I'll say I wouldn't stay for half that, sadly. I'll much rather sleep at home. We were almost thinking of going back and losing the night. I think the problem is failing to accept reality of why in a huge gorgeous classic building we were the only ones! :-(

Cold stay, in every way

Stayed there a few weeks ago.  Heating was broken that weekend which really affected our stay as the room was freezing.  Rooms are very dated and basic.  Very hard to get a taxi from there also if you are going to an event elsewhere.  Breakfast was average.  The staff were apologetic about the heating being broken to be fair.

Stayed for a wedding

Stayed for a weekend with my pet dog and it was lovely. Would definitely go again as it is very peaceful there. Breakfast was great and the girls there were very accommodating and very friendly. Highly recommend Ross House.
