Just returned from a 2 week stay at this fabulous Airbnb.  We were a group of 8 friends, 4 couples . From my initial conversation with Jane , the owner, to the time of our departure, everything was perfect for us. We checked in late the night we arrived and Jane had fresh bread, milk, tea,coffee, biscuits, cake ,fruit and even a big bowl of fresh eggs from the hens outside, all awaiting us. A great start after a long journey to Clifden. The house has 5 ensuite bedrooms, 4 of which overlook the lake, all very tastefully decorated, with one of those rooms on the ground floor, actually like a suite with interconnecting rooms. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a large group. A dining table for 10 people overlooks the lake to the front of the house, and a patio area at the back has an outdoor table for 8 and a BBQ, which we used most nights. There are 2 sitting rooms and a games room cum sitting area, so plenty of space for everyone. Jane the owner lives in a separate annexe  at the back of the house,was there for us if we needed her or had any questions and even brought us homemade bread and fresh eggs a couple of times during our stay. I cannot recommend this house highly enough, all of our group were delighted with it and we could not have asked for more.....an ideal house for a large group and very close to Clifden town. Thanks again Jane for such warm hospitality. Your house really is a Home from Home !!

HOME FROM HOME

We stayed here for two nights as we wanted to be near Clifden. The location is great. It is possible to walk into Clifden via a lane so you’re not on the main road and only takes 15-20 mins. 

When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed a cuppa and cake. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, warm and had everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and great shower. The view was amazing you’d never tire of looking at it. The host couldn’t do enough for us and was extremely helpful. It’s apparent from the moment you arrive that she takes great pride and really wants you to enjoy your stay. There’s loads of parking and we enjoyed listening to the cuckoo. Thank you for ensuring we had a wonderful stay and we look forward to staying again next year.

Superb in every way!

My wife, sister, and niece stayed at Heather Lodge on September 14-15. The reviews were great when I booked the rooms, but the rooms, location, breakfast, and hospitality exceeded the reviews I read.

Adam greeted us with tea as soon as we arrived. My wife and I were in #1 upstairs, and it was a simply delightful room overlooking the Loch across the road. The bathroom and bedroom were completely updated, and bright and cheery.

The breakfast room was decorated beautiful and the place settings and china were simply elegant. The attention to detail and class were so obvious. And the food was excellent.

When we were ready to leave, I asked Adam a question about the ferry crossing of the Shannon, and he pulled all the information I needed from his computer. He was a gracious host.

Clifden is ideally located, and I would recommend it way above Galway Town for location if you are visiting Cong (The Quietman Town), Ashford Castle in Cong, and Kellymore Abbey and Westport - just amazing places.

And for dinner and pub enjoyment, try Guys Bar and Snug in Clifden. We visited it twice, and it was an outstanding pub with great food and music.

Great Place to Stay in Clifden

Lovely B & B, lovely people and a very good breakfast.The rooms are looking beautiful and our bed is very cozy. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. Excellent in every way. Thank you all for the great time!

Wonderful place to stay

This place is a gem, the owner is an absolute lady, got offered tea and scones on arrival. The room was spotless, the bed was the best we had ever slept in, the breakfast was fabulous, plenty of choice, the whole house was spotless and lovely view as well

Fantastic

Really welcoming, friendly host who was happy to help with a few small requests.  The room was very nice.  Breakfast was lovely - I especially liked the fresh fruit salad.  The only disadvantage for me was the location slightly out of town, including a couple of minutes' walk along the side of a main road to get back.  Overall though a lovely place - couldn't do anything better!
