Nice, cheap, basic room. The bathroom could me a little cleaner. The staff at Agung inn are lovely and the coffee is really great! We had read good reviews about the coffee and it did not disappoint! Location-wise, the road can be a little noisy when the bars are playing live music until late but there were lots of great restaurants around (and a gelato shop!).

Nice, cheap, good location

We just rented a scooter from this company, after 5 minutes of driving we had a flat tire. We contacted them and they were not nice at all. We had to pay the repair ourself, which is indeed in the contract but when we went to the shop we saw that the entire wheel was torn, which could not be our fault since we just drove one street. They refused to give us another scooter or give our money back even though we only driven it for 5 minutes. Don’t give people a broken scooter just so they can pay the reparations for you. 

Do not rent a scooter here!

These guys pretend that they organize your trip to Bromo & Ijen volcanos, but what they do is THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY and that's it ! NEVER work with this agency ! We paid quite an expensive price for the 3 days trip, and they put us in the most disgusting hotel from all Indonesia: I mean i would never give this room to my worse ennemy ! Seriously,, just forget those guys.

HORRIBLE !!!

First booked the Borobudur sunrise tour here. The sunrise was lovely, but we were supposed to be picked up at 08.00 to go back. We had to wait for 1.5 hours (till 9.30) until they finally drove us back (which is why we missed our next appointment, and lost our money there), because they were waiting for other customers that did not come back in time. After that, we booked the Bromo and Ijen tour with them. We told them very specifically that we wanted to do the Blue Fire Ijen tour. We paid the amount for transport, homestays, breakfast and both tours (to Bromo and Ijen Bluefire Tour). They told us after asking three times that we only had to pay entrance fees for Bromo (240.000) and Ijen (150.000). Once we arrived at Bromo (which turned out to be a 13 hours bus drive instead of the 10 ours they told us) we had to pay 250.000 each entrance fee for Bromo to our driver (he said that it would be 350.000 if we would pay at the ticketoffice in Bromo) while the next day there was no checkpoint for tickets or whatsoever at Bromo or anywhere along the ride. We never had to show the ticket we bought from the driver, not anywhere. Then we left the next day for Ijen and the tour operators/drivers tell us we have to pay them an extra 150.000 if we want the Blue Fire tour on top of the 150.000 entrance fee. Once we called the tour operator they just say: yeah you have to pay that. So if you book the tour here (and probably in a lot of other offices in Yogyakarta) know that you have to pay an extra 550.000 in total, which doubles he actual price they tell you. 

On top of that, the homestay is not good. It's a room filled with fungus, hard beds, hardly a 'bathroom' and the breakfast is just a little box in the morning with a banana and water. 

It's a real shame they go about it that way, bcause Bromo itself and Iljen are amazing and breathtaking. If they would have just been straightforward, we would have known what we got ourselves into and we could have made a better choice. That really ruines a big part of the experience!! 

Hele slechte service

The hotel is in the Prawirotaman tourist area that has many tourist amenities but retains some charm. The hotel also has an attached tour agency and hires motorbikes.

Our room was large and clean with a balcony, aircon, tea/coffee, multi-channel TV and storage space. The bathroom was well laid out and had a hot shower and toiletries. The bathroom did have a ‘drain’ smell occasionally but not too bad to complain. The balcony door was not well insulated so traffic noise can be heard in the room.

Each floor had a hot/cold water refill. The ground floor had a kitchen with a fridge. The room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was made at your specified time and could be had in room. The wifi was reliable but sometimes slow.

All staff members spoke good English and were helpful and informative.

We hired a bike which was above average quality.

I stayed for two night in Agung Inn. Not a good impression about the building because more likely a hostel or a boarding house. But we impressed with the room. It was a big room, clean and cozy. The breakfast so yummy and they deliver to the room because there's no resto. Another things that should be improved is the towel. The towel so rough. The building next via via (famous restaurant in Yogyakarta) it's recommended hotel. No doubt I'll stay at agung inn again.
