If you need a place to stay not so far from MT Bromo, this place could be optional. It's not a fancy Hotel but its clean and the most important thing is, the hot water really really works well. You need to ride a jeep to reach MT Bromo from here.

The only option for Bromo trip

This is a reasonable hotel. Polite service, fair price and big rooms. There is a TV with many channels, but none in English. No aircon, but it is a cool area. We had two single beds, which were comfortable enough. 
An annoying issue was that the toilet would not stop running. We tried to pretend we were next to a bubbling stream, but it didn't work.

Convenient as a base for exploring Mt Bromo

Well... as I said in the tittle that my trip was an outing activity with colleagues, so I did outbound near the hotel before checked in and the next day rafting in Pakelan River.
The hotel was old fashioned, simple interior, not too interesting... but the good things were clean and had hot shower, really great for cold weather.
The breakfast was terrible because my fried rice wasn't warm when it was served.

Outing with Colleagues in Probolinggo

We travelled a long way and final got to this town and started looking for a place to stay, we were advised by the first hotel we went to to go to this one as would be more suitable for us, along the way we stopped and looked another and approached by a person in the street...we told him we were on way to this hotel to check in. He immediately jumped on his bike and quickly raced in front pretending to guide us to the hotel. On arrival at the hotel we inspected the room, paid and checked in, we drove the car to the room, we noticed that it large hotel with many empty rooms, as we were about to take our bags we were informed suddenly that the hotel was completely booked out and that there was now no rooms available and that fully booked and we could no longer stay. We were very upset and disappointed, we complained however we told we were not welcome. I suggest that this is a dangerous place to stay and suggest travellers go further on and not stay in this town. The are more hotels further up the mountain, however if you are going to Mt Bromo be prepared for road blocks and people trying to make you pay ridiculous prices to go to the mountain. We were unable to ascertain if we were buy tickets from official government tourism agents or being simply ripped off by people pretending to be authorities. We felt unsafe and unsure of if we we would be safely taken to the top or allowed to go and see anything,,,we felt our car was also unsafe being left in the village. There was no official office to buy tickets at and the whole thing smelt unsafe and very dangerous.
