Dirty.
Not welcoming.
I was hoping better and got disappointing. That's not nice place. Bruno is not a nice guy. Always talking about surf and don't give good advise. I don't recommend this place. People are smoking there.

Not good

I booked from agoda a room with private shower.

I was given a room with shared bathroom. I refused. They asked me to pay more to get a room with private shower. I refused. I call that a scam.
The owner came and start arguing.
At the end i was given a bad room. 
Smelly, Noisy and dirty. The room at the ground floor facing the street.
The shower is crap and for the rest, just look at the photo.😝

The owner said he will change the room information to highlight that the room is with shared bathroom. But i checked again and he did not update anything.
Be careful with this hotel.
I found much better hotel in padang and for a cheaper price. 
To be avoided.

The nightmare experience 😝

We stayed one night - convenient location.  Beds and rooms are only okay but you should check you are not sharing a bathroom.  This was an unwelcome surprise for us.  
I wouldn’t stay here again because other hotels which are 4 star have pools etc can be found really cheaply.  

Good drop off location for the ferry to Mentawai.

Owner was fine, but I spoke with him only by telephone, he wants to know, if everything is OK. But the others stuff have no interest about guests. We asked them about shared taxi to Bukittingi. First time, they told us that it is too late, several moments that they do it, but the price was very very hight in compare what we expected and what we know, taht it is normal. We arranged at last by guide, who take us before to Mentawai Island and the price was normal and with no problem. So I supposed that guys in hotel are very lazy a wanted to much money for themselves.
Room was OK, bed comfy, clean, hot shower only in shared bathroom, not in our room. 

Nice owner, good location

Villa time! Best place in Padang to stay! The cozy common living room is huge and invites to relax and exchange with other open minded travelers. The clean and large rooms are extremely good value and spacious with really comfortable big beds. Bruno aka captain of the New House makes you feel home from the first moment and entertains you in the ten most spoken languages of the world. He and the staff boys know and organize you everything - from the bungalow in front of the best barrel of your life to the craziest jungle trek and a tête-à-tête with the tribes. Air condition, cold beer, pool table, huge TV, you have it all - just two minutes walking from the stunning beach! I'll be back soon!

The perfect place to hang out with friends on the way to the Ments

New House is such a great place, and we stumbled upon it by chance!
Great spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff and really good services to reach the Mentawais and much more in the area!

A pool table on the first floor which is super fun for those relaxing days.

Highly recommend staying here if you are in Padang.
