Munroe Island Backwaters Homestay

We would like to thank Vijeesh and his family for our visit to his wonderful homestay. The rooms are excellent hotel style accomodation but the place has a hostel vibe with communal eating areas with hammocks and lounging areas. The punting boat tours of the back canals , sunset and sunrise are unforgettable . Vijeesh has lived here all his life and knows all the wildlife , and the people and the best places for photographs. We recommend the kayak tour as well, it’s like a secret mystery tour , discover farms , lakes and beautiful waterways. On top of all that the home cooked meals straight from mum’s kitchen are so good you will want to stay in every night . Vijeesh is a beautiful host with a lovely sense of humour, it’s the sort of place you don’t want to leave.
