The terrace rooms are very cozy and well made and maintained. The mountain view room has the toilet across the room, the toilet is large. Water supply here is by tankers and water quality is excellent, taste is very good. There is a nice terrace where one can have the breakfast if the weather permits, else there is a small kitchenet with a dining table for meals. This place makes you feel like being at home, comfortable and relaxed, away from the usual noise of Mall area.  Samir's parents are senior citizens and take care of the guests and they are very caring and helpful.  Samir's mother is an excellent cook, the homely food  prepared by her  will keep your stomach from grumbling, The best part is home cooked dinner in the cozy atmosphere.

The location is in the quiet up scale residential area of Darjeeling.

One of the Best home stay!!

다질링을 여행하시는 대부분의 한국 여행자들은 '타워X', '앤디X', '트리베X' 등 가이드북이나 블로그에서 추천하는 숙소를 주로 이용하실 거 같은데요. 일반 저렴이 숙소보다는 비싼 편이지만, 현지인과 함께 다질링을 느끼기에는 홈스테이가 최고의 선택이지 않을까 싶어 추천드리고 싶어요. 이름에 나오는 사미르는 실제 홈스테이를 운영하시는 부부의 아들이구요. 아들은 시내에서 다른 일을 하고 있대요. 부부가 어찌나 친절하고 따뜻하시던지. 좋은 리뷰를 남기지 않을 수 없네요!

다질링 시내에서도 홈스테이를 운영하는 곳이 꽤 많은걸로 알고 있어요. 그중에서도 Samir's 홈스테이가 좋았던 이유를 꼽는다면요.
1. 테라스에서 감상할 수 있는 완벽한 뷰
2. 집에서 즐기는 현지 스타일의 1일 3식
3. 도심과 떨어져 있어 한결 조용하고 평온한 분위기
를 꼽을 수 있을 거 같아요.

후기에 사진을 올릴 수 없는 게 매우 아쉬울 만큼, 방에서 창문 너머로 볼 수 있는 뷰는 그야말로 환상입니다. 물론 TV타워 근처에도 뷰가 멋진 숙소들이 매우 많지만, 여기는 차원이 다른 뷰가 있어요. 가만히 서서 설산을 바라보고 있으면 자기도 모르게 눈에서 눈물이 흐를 정도랍니다. ㅎㅎ 그리고 따로 요청하시면 아침식사는 물론이고 집에서 식사를 모두 해결하실 수 있어요. 저희는 매 끼니를 해결하진 않았고, 아침식사만 매일 먹고 나머지는 외식도 하고 집에서 먹기도 하면서 그때그때 요청을 했었는데 늘 맛있는 음식으로 준비해 주셔서 참 좋았습니다. 게다가 저희가 묵었던 기간 중에 시내 파업이 있었던 탓에 모든 상점 및 음식점이 문을 닫았는데(다질링에서 종종 벌어지는 일이에요) 집에서 모든 끼니를 해결할 수 있어 어찌나 다행이었는지 몰라요. 찾아가기에는 좀 멀지만 그만큼 조용하고 평온한 분위기는 두말할 것 없겠죠?

이야기 듣기로는 주로 유럽 쪽 손님들이 많이 찾는다고 하네요. 아무래도 가격이 좀 높기도 하고 홈스테이라는 문화가 우리나라와는 조금 낯설다보니 그런게 아닌가 싶은데요. 한 번 경험해 보시면 흠뻑 빠져드실지도 모릅니다. 정말정말 강추에요!

아, 침대가 조금 딱딱해서 허리가 아프고 문 틈으로 날벌레들이 조금씩 들어오는 거는 감안하세요. 물론 시골집에서 자는 거라 생각하시면 충분히 감수할 수 있는 수준입니다. ㅎㅎ

Samir's Homestay is the best place I have stayed in Darjeeling. The kindness of a couple like a grandfather and a grandmother in the countryside is really unforgettable. The view from the terrace is fantastic. Breakfast is also very good. Upon request, you will also find information on the various activities you can enjoy in Darjeeling. Getting to the homestay is a bit complicated. Never trust Google Maps and get instructions on the phone. I hope this homestay will be known to many people. Highly recommended.

I do not usually feel compelled to write reviews about places I don't like much, but the AWFUL service and total lack of care I received from this shambles of a guesthouse, combined with 9 hours of wasted time and a huge amount of inconvenience, was enough to make me do so. My partner and I booked a room for 3x nights through booking.com. Our booking was confirmed by email and in a message I received through the property who asked that I call them for information on directions. Upon arrivaI in Darjeeling, I attempted to call both their public phone number and a different one they gave me - both were disconnected. If you search this property on google maps, very very little information comes up with how to find it, yet still I could not contact anybody to ask for help. As we wandered around the town, asking everyone and anyone for help and directions (nobody had even heard of this place), we came across another hotel who very kindly allowed us to use their wifi helped us contact Samir's Homestay, as they could see how exhausted and stressed we were after a 28 hour train journey and aimlessly wandering around Darjeeling for 4 hours hoping Samir's would contact us back. I then sent a message via booking.com to the guesthouse asking for someone to please contact me, and explaining our situation. They send me 4 phone numbers back, asking me to call. After about 20 minutes of redialling and waiting I finally spoke to someone who promptly hung up on me. The man at the hotel that was helping us called Samir's again, this time it was explained to him that, although we had a confirmed booking, they had allowed a guest to extend her own stay, therefore remaining in the room we had booked. We were offered no alternative or apology (except why not try contacting their sister hotel which is about 20 kms away, with no way of getting there?!). They just simply gave away our room. At this present time, Darjeeling is PACKED with tourists, so because of SAMIR HOMESTAYS mistakes (or perhaps they just don't care at all about their customers?), we then spent the next 5 hours - in addition to the 4 we had already been hanging around for - trying to look for another hotel for that evening. We eventually found one at 8pm, 9 hours after we were supposed to check in. We have now had to book into 3 separate hotels for hour 3 night stay, that means lugging our heavy bags around the town 3 times all because of the carelessness of this homestay. Not to mention the loss of an entire day here trying to sort out their mess. We have been backpacking for several months, but this is by far THE WORST HOMESTAY WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN INDIA, OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY FOR THAT MATTER. Even just an apology would have perhaps helped, and may have made this review less scathing, but I would still NEVER EVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone who values their time and peace of mind. We had to cancel plans today that we now do not have time to do anymore, and we are also out of pocket because we had to book expensive rooms at last minute at top price. 

DO NOT STAY HERE. THERE ARE BETTER VALUE AND FAR BETTER ORGANISED AND PLEASANT HOTELS IN DARJEELING. 

Worst customer service experienced in 12 weeks in India - or anywhere! 

Samir homestay is one of the best homestay in this area.it has best views ,best location,best food  every thing was excellent  in my opinion. Samir parents are very good they take care of my family very nicely.they are always ready to sought  our any problem.they also provide  car rental at very reasonable  rate.i am really very impressed  with their  caring behaviour. I totally recommended  this homestay to everybody.this homestay has no negative point in it.belive me all things are very nice and good.

One of the best homestay in the Darjeeling  area

Samir, s Homestay for me has been one of the most welcoming places throughout my trip in India. This is not a pension or hostel, is the home of this lovely couple. The house has two rooms on the terrace with views that are spectacular, no comparison and little to envy the Tiger Hill. You have a bathroom outside the room for you which is right in front, so it's nothing uncomfortable. I was alone during my stay so I had all the space for me, I guess if there is someone in the other room in the bathroom would be shared. In the same hall is the kitchen where they serve dinner and breakfast, both delicious and plentiful. The dinner cost 250 rupees, and I repeat, it is very abundant. Everything is spotless and clean. There can only be a small problem, it is difficult to find the first time. I went to the central taxi stop and the call Samirt and there was no problem. From there, once you get your bearings, it is very comfortable and close to shopping and restaurants. They are 10 minutes walk and you have the advantage while being out of chaos in the midst of nature with an extraordinary view. Samir will help you in everything you need, book bus excursions, anything, with a kindness that leaves you speechless. Without doubt the best place to stay in Darjeeling, I was sorry to leave and if I try to stay there
