Visited with friends for lunch.
There are 2 sections for VEG and NON VEG separately.
Easy to locate as it is on the left side while coming from OOTY to Gudalur.
Rates are moderate. Parking is free and it is located by the road side

We stayed here couple of days back.We were staying at a resort on the hill side near gudalur & because of red alert given at Nilgiris &  some landslides we were shifted to this hotel. This property is situated on the main road of Gudalur, This is a good hotel, but their restaurant is terrible, restaurants service is pathetic, they take their own time to prepare & serve us dishes, rates are exorbitant.  The front office guys should be more efficient, in giving more info to tourists. Staying here for a day is ok.

Nice hotel at gudalur

- Very good hotel in Gudular Town
- Easy to locate and very helpful staff
- Veg Restaurant & Non-Veg restaurant, with clear separation
- Space to park cars(about 6 of them) in the basement for overnight stay
- Being on the main road, easy accessibility to shops / market
- Front Desk Reception was good and quick room service from Hotel.
- Although only couple of staff in Hotel, was able to service quickly
- Only issue we faced was that Hot Water was not available but was quickly rectified ( switching on the power for hot water by reception?) and need to request for towels etc.
- Booked through online portal and hence did not come with breakfast option

I was on my way back to calicut . Hotel is placed near the main junction and is easily accessible  and can be used as a pit stop had a vegetarian lunch here . Nice food . Lot of parking space. Nice staff. they have  anon veg section , and a place to stay . In total Nice place

Driving down from Ooty through the incredible ghat road with a heavy drizzle throughout, comes the plains of Gudalur! And as you enter is the impressive signs of Sasthapuri...lodging and Non Veg/ Veg restaurants...both separated. It's a clean bright place. Full South Indian breakfast fare was available. We gorged on Idly, vada, masala dosa..all delicious. The vada was just the right size , light, crisp outside and softer inside. The potato in the dosa was not overly spices and the extra dash of turmeric lifted the flavour. The sides of coconut chutney, tomato chutney and sambar were all delicious! Only disappointment was they have coffee with Bru only and not the typical strong south Indian filter coffee. That apart, it was a surprise to find such a quality place with such delicious food. Look nowhere else if passing through Gudalur! !

Other thing to consider is that there may not be much better places to stay near Gudalur. You may need to go to Ooty/Coonor for more options

We took the basic non AC room as the temperature was 10 degree, but unfortunately our experience was not that great..
1) There was a cockroach in the room, but luckily he changed the room instantly
2) The manager by name Thomas was not so welcoming and friendly as well, he maintained his own attitude.
3) when i asked for the bill he was reluctant to give the bill with GST details..he gave me a bill without the GST number

As a Passionate Hotelier and Intrepid Traveler, I have come to the conclusion that the often PATHETIC Hospitality Service Quality in India is NOT due to the Skills Shortage OR The Skills Gap BUT ENTIRELY due to Poor Leadership, Management & Employee Engagement.
This Hotel is an Epitome of the above contention.
EXCELLENT Location and Good Physical Product - BOTH of which ENTIRELY NULLIFIED by Very Poor Leadership, Ownership & Management. 
I paid Rs 2000 for a Non AC Room in Gudalur - I may have as well stayed in a LOUSY Oyo Room for HALF the price because : (1) The TV did not work (2) The Bathroom Drainage was CLOGGED and a whole host of LITTLE things that matter ( all of which brought PERSONALLY to the attention of the Hotel Manager - Respectfully & Courteously) . The ROOT cause of the PROBLEM: Very Poor Employee ENGAGEMENT. A NICE Bunch of People ( Who SMILE & GREET ) but who are clearly not SERVICE ORIENTED NOR TRAINED & Managed to perform even the BASIC of Service-Related Tasks. I suggested in fact to the Manager that if ONLY he could improve his  Product & Service Quality - Customers would pay an ADDITIONAL Rs 500 Per Room Night.                                                                      
As a Hotelier - it PAINS me to see how the Indian Hospitality Industry is evolving.

GREAT VALUE Food Pricing though - Not that the Food is Great BUT it is EDIBLE ( ANOTHER Great Opportunity to improve and attract PAYING Custom). I am reminded OFTEN by what Jeff Bezos often states  - " Obsessive-Compulsive FOCUS on the CUSTOMER"  is why AMAZON is One of the 4 Most Valuable Enterprises in the World.

Hotel with FANTASTIC Potential BUT Very Poorly Managed.

Very bad hospitality and staff behaviour not gud no proper response. I would suggest pls don't ever visit this hotel.
