We stayed her one night. The rooms are great with amazing views of the town. The owner is also very nice. It doesn’t have an in house restaurant and we did not have car with us. While we were about to call taxi for dinner the owner suggested he could take us to town and wait for us while we order food at a very nominal charge (much less than taxi). It’s 10 minutes driving distance from all the restaurants.

We stated here one night during our travels around the ring tiad. This is a delightful unassuming little hotel built on the hillside with beautiful views of Akureyri. It is perfect and the owner is a sweet gentleman who will make sure you are well taken care of.  Don't hesitate. Book it!

It is about 10 minutes from downtown. The hotel is family owned and operated, he was very attentive and took care of us while there. No dinner there, breakfast is very simple. Small bathroom but adequate. We chose the hotel so we can be away from the city but near to benefit from all the restaurants and stores. We lucked out the night we were there, we saw aurora at around 1:00 AM. It was a bonus treat.

By far the best hotel we stayed at in Iceland. The hotel is situated upon a hill overlooking Akureyri and the magnificent waterfront. The room offers a breathtaking view  of the waterfront and I felt like I could spend hours just staring at the view.The hotel has a handful of rooms and that adds to the very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are quite clean and spacious and very elegantly furnished. The floor to ceiling windows and the private patio allow you to soak in the amazing view.We found the breakfast to be simple but yet wholly adequate. My wife and I are vegetarians but we felt very satisfied with the options on offer. The only very minor feedback we would have is to keep the slices of cheese separate from the slices of meat at breakfast. Since people tend to use the same serving fork for both the meat and cheese, the vegetarians may feel uncomfortable taking the cheese. There is also ample free parking available at the property.

We booked this hotel for three nights the last weekend of August . We had read all the marvellous reviews and of how nice the owner was, but the hotel and owner far exceeded our expectations. The hotel website does not do justice to how spectacular and lovely the hotel is , it’s actually also very contemporary and the finishing’s are of very high quality . The owners have put a lot of thought and love into designing this hotel for the comfort of their guests. The walls are all soundproofed so u don’t hear a thing, the rooms are of a really good size which is very rare in Iceland . The rooms are immaculately clean and very comfortable with a quality mattress for a good nights sleep . We never stayed up to see the Northern lights but the other guests did , just sat on their balconies about midnight and said it was amazing. Buffet breakfast was excellent and what a view . The area of the hotel is beautiful worth the short drive over it’s like the Beverly Hills of Akureyri . We will definitely be returning especially now that a winter direct flight path has opened up from Manchester to Akureyri.

My wife and I spent a night here on our Ring Road trip, and we were totally happy with it. The hotel manager who checked us in was a very friendly and helpful lady who said she was a cousin of the owner. Hope any guests get to meet her. She gave friendly suggestions for restaurants in the area, and takes you to the room. Our’s was room 8, with a spectacular view of the fjord and Akureyri.  It was also clean, modern, and extremely quiet until a cement truck showed up for pouring cement after 8 am for a hotel addition they are building. But they didn’t bother us as we were already up. The breakfast was delicious, and Wi-Fi worked well. I did suggest to manager upon checkout that more pillows be provided as my bed had only one rather flattish pillow. But beds are comfy. Only other warning I’d give is that the road to hotel is a bit hard to find, and I got lost once on the way there. But once found, we had a pleasant experience and rate hotel Excellent!

Room was among the best of the trip, very large with a big bathroom.  Very well appointed.  Breakfast was typical Icelandic fare.  Owner was great, but we arrived about 20 min prior to check in and were not greeted warmly.  Easy drive to the city.

Fabulous views, comfortable room and excellent service. Can’t be beat.

The views from the rooms are spectacular overlooking the city and estuary and the rooms are beautifully maintained with a great shower and bathroom. In the room was a coffee machine which during out stay was replenished daily. Breakfast was included and was buffet style with cold meats,cheese, pastries and fruit all very nice. The owner was very helpful with ideas for our stay. The drive into the city takes around 10 minutes and there is free evening parking in the centre. Highly recommended.
