Fabulous meal as always at this amazing place, the best food & perfectly run by attentive, professional, accommodating staff - unfortunately there’s always someone that will complain about something that’s accepted all over Greece ie smoking, perhaps next time ask to be moved don’t wait till the end of your meal to or take a staycation.

We were surprised and disappointed that smoking is still allowed in the restaurant.
Our meal was excellent other than the smoke from other diners. The manager explained that smoking in the restaurant  is perfectly legal

beautiful location on the hill next to the small harbour overlooking the small village. Very friendly and high standard. The food is very high standard and the service as well. Do to the location on the hillside there is many steps so  you must be able to walk around

Beautiful quiet and stunning view

We spent three nights in this amazing hotel, everything was perfect. The room had the most beautiful view, super comfortable beds, a balcony which had the best view ever and I visited over 35 countries. The breakfast terrace was ideal, again with the best view, super friendly staff and tasty food. The beach was stunning, clear water and if you snorkel, you will see some sea life. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and we hope to come next year. During these days, I felt like I truly experienced real Greece - hospitality, community and nature.

Amazing stay in a beautiful place

We came for second time in this beautiful place, both times in August. Service was as good as expected, food quality great and healthy measurements due to Covid-19 were mostly followed, the only suggestions I can make are to improve the quality of pillows and the polycarbonate pergola over the patio doesn’t feet to the local concept and the heat under it is to much specially during breakfast.

Relaxing weekend in a unique place

This property is the perfect space for enjoying Loutro and all of its amenities. The hotel is relaxed, informal, and charming. Our balcony had a wonderful view out over the harbor, and our room was clean and basic. Breakfasts were uniformly delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Beware of the fact that there are no elevators, and the walk to your room from the harbor requires a climb of approximately 100 steps. That said, we found the climb to be good exercise that rewarded us with a lovely view just slightly removed from the action down on the harbor. Loutro itself is a liveky place to visit. Highly recommended.

Best Place to Stay in Loutro

Fabulous stay at an exceptional hotel where attention to detail is second to none.  We enjoyed a top floor room with a balcony and picturesque views of Loutro harbour.  The balconies are not totally private but well worth the additional cost as they are far larger and offer more expansive views.
Staff are attentive and efficient but not over bearing which provides just the right ambience.  Food is first class and very reasonably priced.  Breakfast is outstanding and negates the need for lunch.  
Our room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean with a service and change of sheets each day.
Close to the ferry, shops and small beach.  We walked to and from Sweetwater Bay and Marmara Beach both about one hour in duration with the forner the far easier walk as the latter involves a very steep and potentially tricky descent to the beach.  Both beaches are magnificent for bathing in crystal clear, warm sea water.  Food and drink available at both.
The hotel offers tremendous value for money; its position is second to none in Loutro and toy would have to go a long way to find anything as good in our opinion.


Remarkably relaxing

Loutro is one of the most gorgeous places on the earth. And the Hotel Porto Loutro on the Hill is one of the best places to enjoy it. Because of its high-up location, the rooms all have spectacular views of the town. (Yes, you have to climb plenty of stairs or a steep driveway to get there, but it's worth it!) It's simply magical!

The food is also surprisingly good. We ate here one night for dinner and found it to be better than almost any of the other restaurants in town that have high rankings on TripAdvisor. (The breakfast is good, too, although the coffee needs a lot of improvement!) Overall, though, we loved this place. We stayed here a week as part of a group of swimmers who were doing swims and hikes along the southern coast of Crete; we wished we could have stayed much longer! Truly a delight!

Highlight of a trip to Greece!

When they say on the hill, that guarantees great water views from almost everywhere. But it is a climb up from the port, then two more flights to my room. No lift I could see. We stayed a week on a swimming holiday. Never tired of the fresh beautiful breakfasts, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, toast, tea and coffee. Restaurant great for dinner too. Wifi. Greek bathrooms vary. Mine was small and no shower curtain, but they did give me a mop for when the hand held shower sprayed! Pretty room with water views compensated for that. Air con.

Fabulous views, lovely hotel, you have to be able to climb stairs!

This is a place to go and completely relax. Great walks to beautiful places with good food and drink wherever you go. Everybody seems to want to chat. Will definitely be going back in the near future!
