This is a fabulous hotel run by a superb family. The hotel has a perfect location right next to the beach. The family are so friendly and helpful we had such a fantastic time and would highly recommended this hotel if you are thinking of going to kefalonia. Don't let the rating put you off, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the food, especially breakfast was excellent and much more than you could possibly eat. Thank you to the family for looking after us so well. read the excellent reviews 👌 we will be back in the future 😀  

Riviera hotel poros kefalonia 

Just spent two fantastic weeks at Riviera, and what a wonderful, family run Hotel. Breakfast is absolutely amazing : Anna, Dennis and the rest of the family and Staff, are wonderfully attentive, with nothing being too much effort. Have already enquired about availability for 2 weeks next year. As with the other reviews we have read, can not praise the Riviera Hotel enough.

Absolutely fabulous

Spent a week here with my partner in May 2023, it was the slow relaxing break we had planned.

If you like your holidays lively, Poros is not for you. There are only a small handful of bars & restaurant's. Enough to mix it up every day, but not enough to attract the crowds, perfect for us. They are open all day till late & one shows the sport if you need to catch-up on such things.

The beach at the top end of Poros (Riviera Hotel end) is award winning, unspoiled and has lifeguards (in season). It's a pebble beach, so take those silly shoes to stop you walking like you've spoiled yourself. It has beautiful views, is quiet & you'll even spot locals popping down for their daily swims.

Hotel Riveria is run by a very attentive, friendly family. There are no frills here, it is just a B&B, but in a unspoilt part of Greece, you don't need much more. The rooms are well maintained & cleaned everyday. The balcony in our room was enough entertainment for us, sat a few meters from the beach, watching the world go by, reading a magazine and sipping a chilled jug of wine they provide at reception (for pennies). The breakfast is unbelievable, you'll sit under the shelter across the road, a meter above the sand. One of the family members will shuttle trays from the kitchen to your table, bringing you fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee or tea, pastries, bread, egg, bacon and cake. It's takes 3/4 trips/trays, they bring you that much, you have to put it on the chairs. We where uncomfortable leaving so much, so tried to eat what we could & agreed to skip lunch every day as a result. The staff smile at your comments about this, tell you not to worry & repeat the process the next day. As a Hotel experience this was one of the best we have had, simple but perfect, at unbelievable value.

The car hire services in Poros are not great, we phoned 'DiffeRent' in Skala, they dropped it off and collected it at no extra cost, key collection & drop at reception (if you ask).  A trip to Fiskardo is worth the drive alone, Kefalonia is an absolutely stunning island.

Poros is that quiet, that we where the only ones on both our transfers (mini bus) which is adds to the whole experience, as those big coaches & multiple drop-offs can be painful. If you are a couple & just want to chill, this is the gem for you.

Great little place to escape & experience life at a slower pace.

We've just returned from a fantastic holiday at this wonderful family run hotel which is situated right on the beach a short 10 minute stroll from the main centre. We had amazing views over the sea with the sun rising right opposite our room. The rooms are very clean and Ana and her family are wonderful hosts, so friendly and helpful. They sorted our trips and we got picked up and returned afterwards. Fantastic breakfasts are taken in the restaurant overlooking the beach and the sea. We were there during the recent heatwave and the hotel has great air con! We will definitely want to return here. Thoroughly recommended. 

Wonderful friendly family run hotel right on the beach

As the title states this is an absolute gem of a hotel. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by Anna and Dennis in this lovely family run hotel.
Everything from the quality and choice of breakfast to the spotlessly clean, air conditioned rooms was absolutely faultless.
Poros itself feels like a place that’s coming back after the difficult covid period, the beach is lovely and there are multiple great choices for eating out and chilling with a cold Alfa beer.
This was an absolutely outstanding holiday and I recommend Poros and the Riviera hotel without hesitation.

An absolute gem.

I cannot compliment this hotel any more highly. We stayed in Poros for 2 weeks in early September. The weather was perfect - mid to high 20s. The sea was warm and the whole atmosphere of the village was one of friendliness.
The hotel itself is an absolute gem of a find. We were lucky enough to be allocated room 18 which, in my opinion, was the best room in the hotel. Its a family room with a double and a single bed with the most ENORMOUS balcony outside complete with a table and chairs and 2 sunbeds. The whole area was shaded and just made the experience even more perfect. 
The room was cleaned daily and the towels and bedding were changed, if not daily then on a really regular basis. It was spotlessly clean
Breakfast was amazing and filled us up for the whole day.
Anna and her family were the most friendly hosts we have ever encountered.
If you want loud music and late nights then Poros is not for you. If, however, you want to eat wonderful traditional food, swim in crystal clear waters and watch the world go by, then there is nowhere better

Perfect

This is a lovely little family style hotel. It’s spotless, clean and very tidy. It’s right on the beach edge and it provides the most wonderful breakfast. Anna was a wonderful and attentive host and made sure we had every think we wanted. The rooms are suitable, cleaned everyday, and the bathrooms excellent with loads of hot water for the shower. Tea and coffee facilities in the room (don’t forget to bring your own coffee and tea) along with a fridge. The air conditioner was effective.

Poros itself is quite quiet and there was little traffic along the road outside the hotel. However, plenty of bars/restaurant nearby. The beach is pebbly but it does have a blue flag for water quality.  Various bars offer sun beds on the beach.

What a find!

Perfect for a quiet holiday. We arrived late and found it hard to get a taxi. So advice would be to pre book a transfer. 
Anna and family really look after you. Buses are limited so worth getting a hire car to explore the island. Pre book this as demand is high.
Skala is a short hop away for a more lively evening.
The hotel is spotless. The service is wonderful and the location is perfect. Poros is quiet. This suited us.


Lovely family run hotel

What an amazing hotel. Situated right on the beach.  Have stayed in many Greek hotels and this leaves them all standing.  Spotlessly cleaned every day,  crisp white bedding and towels,  toiletries provided also kettle in room and wonderful sea view.   Anna and family can not do enough for you.  Breakfast overlooking the sea, with toast, cheese, ham, lovely fruit and much more fills you up for the day.   Short walk to tavernas and shops.  Would highly recommend.

Wonderful family run hotel on sea front.

Have just returned from a two week holiday to Kefalonia with my wife, and we stayed at the Riviera Hotel in Poros.
Would just like to say that Anna and her family were so friendly and welcoming, we are definitely going to return next year.
Nothing was too much trouble, the accommodation was spotless, and the food was superb. Breakfast was incredible, and Mamma's home made cake saw me through until our evening meal!! We would recommend this hotel to ANYBODY for a wonderful, relaxing time in Poros. Our perfect holiday. Thank you Anna xxxxxxxxx
