Our first stay at Villa Plori in 1995 was the perfect tonic for me to recuperate from major surgery. The sight of the tranquil sea & soft sand, a mere flip flop away from our balcony & scenery made me feel I had found paradise.

Several holidays later, some taken in glorious areas of the world, the pearl, 
Villa Plori, has drawn us back time after time to our piece of paradise. 

We have recently returned from another 2 weeks stay at Villa Plori & felt it time to write a long overdue review.

Villa Plori is situated perfectly in the middle of Makrigialos & right on the beach.We believe Makrigialos has one of the best beaches on the South east coast, with sand which shelves gently into the clear warm Libyan Sea.  

The village boasts an excellent selection of bars, and tavernas, many fronting onto the beach. In the small fishing harbour, a charming part to stroll around, there is a small cluster of waterfront bars, tavernas and restaurants. Makrigialos is an ideal place for those looking for a quiet relaxing stay.

Villa Plori has 8 stunning studios & 2 apartments across 2 floors, all spotlessly cleaned every day. They are individually furnished beautifully with comfortable beds & bedding, sofa & a lovely touch of cretan charm. The fabulous modern bathrooms are better than one would get in some 5* hotels. Kitchen area is well equipped, with kettle, coffee maker, small cooking hotplate, various pans, utensils, cutlery, tableware & fridge freezer. All studios & apartments boasting good sized private balconies with table, chairs, umbrella & fantastic sea views.

WiFi & A/C come as standard along with free parking, sun-beds, umbrella & table.

On arrival you are welcomed with a bottle of wine & water in the fridge, a lovely touch. Villa Plori is a real home from home.

The superb hosts Manolis & Lena are more like friends to us, they “welcome” you with warmth & care & strive to ensure your stay is perfect. Settling you into your accommodation & helping with your luggage nothing is too much trouble, if you need something they will be pleased to help.

Verra, the maid is a huge asset to Villa Plori, not only does she keep the rooms in a spotless condition with her cleanliness she tends the beautiful garden ,dead heading flowers & watering. Every morning cleans/brushes the sun-beds so they are sand free for the guests, such a hard worker.

Villa Plori, a Pearl in Paradise.

Had fabulous holiday with family at villa plori.  We love visiting here owners Lena & Manolis have the best set of studios right on the beach centally located in the lovely village of Makrialos. Immaculately cleaned  every day Lena & Manolis are so welcoming & their goal is to make sure you have a wonderful time.  Our grandsons happily played in the warm sea which is calm and shallow free sunbeds & parosols & very close to bars & restaurants. Thank you once again for a great stay & will see you next year.

Amazing seaside holiday accomodation

Villa Plori is as I have said in the title is simply outstanding!
It must be almost impossible to find a property with a better beachside position anywhere.
The owners and the maid/gardener are rightly proud of the establishment and take great care to ensure that you have a memorable stay.
The rooms are extremely well furnished with superb bedding, quality kitchen goods, hairdryer, insect repellents etc.
Air conditioning, safe, sunbeds in front of the property and a private car park are all included in the room rate.
It was so good, we are returning next week!

Outstanding!

It has been several years since we visited Villa Plori but nothing has changed. The same beautiful accommodation right on the beach and the same warm welcome from Lina and Manolis. Air conditioning, safe and sunbeds are included in the price; the accommodation is beautifully clean and the shower is better than the one we have at home! Beautiful location, every studio/apartment has same incredible sea view and you can walk to restaurants, shops etc. Such a relaxing place to be, two weeks was not long enough...

Return visit after several years

Another wonderful holiday at this superb apartment. In such an idyllic location in Makrygialos, right on the beautiful beach, very quiet and relaxing but still close to all the excellent restaurants and bars.
 We just love coming back year after year and will definitely return as soon as we can. Thank you Lena & Manolis 

Our little piece of paradise!

The room I stayed in, was near the sea. The view was beautiful and the room very tidy and tasteful. The ownerswelcomed us and made us feel like home. The sea there,is crystal clear and the water very clean. I can't wait to go again 💜

Another fantastic holiday

It was definitely the best experience which I ever stayed before. Not only the location but the attitutide of the owners of the accomodation made the stay comfortable. To wake up early in the morning without seeing a car make you feel blessed. You could find your self in 30 seconds in the sea without any stress which is a perfect beginning of a new day. I hope we could visit Villa Plori once again in the near future:)

Feeling like home

In Villa Plori we felt that it is maintained with love. Little things like (real) flowers in the appartment, the garden, pieces of cake, that we got from the owners... And, the best tended house, garden and peace of beach in Makry Gialos (at least in May). The interior of the appartment is very tasteful and practical, the sea view and rumors are perfect to relax at any time of day and night. We had some wonderful days there! Thank you for that!

Returning to Villa Plori is almost like returning home. A warm welcome as always.
The village of Makrigialos is celebrating Greek Orthodox Easter as a time for family coming together. Today, as April is coming to a close,it is a perfect day, 24c a beautiful calm sea and an almost empty expanse of golden beach. Tavernas and bars opening as they wake from their winter’s rest. It is a time of spring flowers and the island is greener than usual.
April and May is my favourite time of year in Makrigialos.
