My room was adequately equipped for preparing breakfast and snacks. The room was very clean and the apartment block was in an excellent location, close to two beaches, the small port, shops and tavernas. The proprietor Poli was very pleasant and helpful and speaks perfect English. I felt very safe staying here!

Great location

Simple, clean rooms. Private bathrooms with showers,  A/C, small fridge and a balcony. Very Good location. There is some traffic on the street, so it can be a bit noisy, but that is the price for location IMO. We will be back. Politimi is lovely and very helpful.

Simple rooms with good quality / price ratio. Exactly what We were looking for.

A wonderful small-scale (approx 20 rooms) hotel, with clean well-appointed rooms/apartments and newly renovated bathrooms. We love coming here and have been coming back for 7 years now. Each room has a balcony, and most have a view to the river. It's just wonderful to come back from a day at the beach, and relax on your balcony while enjoying the tranquil view of the river while in the distance the sunset is preparing and bathing the hilly landscape in a beautiful pink hue. All that whilst being 150 meters away from the beach and 120 meters away from the central square and all the "action": restaurants, cafes, cocktail bars.
The owner Polly is super helpful and friendly. Polly is Greek-American and her perfect English in American accent only adds to the charm and enjoyment of our holidays. Every year we look forward to seeing Polly again.
I cannot give enough stars and kudos to the Egeon and its management!

Wonderful small hotel, love coming back here!

Really excellent little hotel. Friendly English speaking owner, spotlessly clean and within easy walking distance of all the attractions of Georgioupolis. Our room was larger than many more expensive hotels and had a beautiful view of the river. Very good value for money and free WiFi. We will return!

Little Gem of a Hotel

Excellent studios with a fantastic view over the river and the harbour area, with magnificent beaches to the left and right of the river mouth.
It is run by Poli, who speaks perfect English, and her husband Peter who are extremely welcoming and helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh bed linen and towels every couple of days. This is the place to stay for a few days if you are travelling around Crete, or for a holiday as we did. There are lots of good places to eat and drink in Georgiouplolis , and a lovely village square surrounded by cafes and tavernas.
Highly recommended.

Studios with river, harbour and sea view

We have been travelling around the Island of Crete since the 1980's, and finally after some seasons settled in Georgioupolis, it was originally very quite and peaceful with a few backpackers, and over the years has expanded but has managed to maintain it's charm and peace.

The Egeon hotel has served us very well over these last 20 years, and both Polli & Peter are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and for my wife and I the location is perfect with views over the River and Harbour, we feel home from home.

Our Secret Home in Crete

I last reviewed Egeon in June 2016 and thought a short update was due as my wife Pat and I have been back twice since then. I am very happy to report that everything is as it was except for the renovations that have taken place. The room we were in has been completely reorganised with a lovely brand new bathroom. Other rooms have also been renovated and more will be done over the winter months. We have already booked again for July next year.

Another amazing stay with Polli & Peter

Our second holiday in lovely Georgiopolis.  Egeon apartments are next to turtle river. Polly and Peter are excellent hosts. Apartments cleaned every day. Air conditioning. Mosquito nets on doors. Apartment was available for us to use on our last day at no extra cost. And Polly makes excellent cakes. Bellisimo and Gyropolis are excellent restaurants in the main square - great food and great value. Head to Eleana's for breakfast. All in all a perfect holiday

Top family holiday

Polly and Peter are amazing hosts, very friendly nothing too much trouble, fabulous location easy access to everything , beech, bar restaurants, Egeon rooms very clean, absolutely fab place to stay will be returning to this gorgeous jewel of Crete     

FANTASTIC

We have stayed with Polly and Peter many times, their hospitality is wonderful. The renovations over the winter have given the property a big facelift, the new bathrooms are fabulous as we saw when we stayed last week. Can’t wait for our next visit later this year.
