Then this is just the place. Atmospheric 600 hundred year old castle. Expected Banquo's ghost to appear at any moment. Spacious room. Modern refurbished bathroom - with heated tile floor - just what was needed when it was zero outside. And a proprietor who made me welcome when I turned up at 22.00 in the evening. Good breakfast. Helpful and pleasant staff. Would recommend.

2. Replenish shower gel etc daily
3. Light the log fire every night
4. Turn the loop to off on the bar ... I don't need a loop if a log burning ... really ... no
5. Bottle of water in the room please

Would I go again ... yes ... but I'd take provisions 


Amazing setting

We stayed in Room Götz on the second floor of the main building, accessed by the circular stairs from the courtyard, or through the stairs to the reception and then through the breakfast room. The bedroom windows open out to the common area balcony facing the green fields. Luckily, there were no guests smoking while we were inside our bedroom (as I'm very sensitive to cigarette/cigar smoke). We decided not to open the windows in order to have privacy. The hallway has medieval decor. Our room has the red four-poster bed shown on their website, an old armoire, two chairs and a rickety old desk (all add to the charm of this castle). The bathroom, however, is modern with black tiles, and there is no shower door or curtain, so we had to shower carefully and avoid water splashes all over the bathroom. The mattress sheet was a little rough, but we slept well and the bed was comfortable. Arrived a little after 0900 in the breakfast room - sat at the table with the view of the green fields. Breakfast was good, but noticed that they didn't replenish almost empty dishes like the fruit salad, cakes, etc., perhaps because they were not expecting any more guests to arrive. We didn't eat dinner at the castle, as we discovered a very charming medieval village of Möckmühl, about 7.5 miles west of Jagsthausen. Before check out, the receptionist gave us a tour of the dungeon in the cellar. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We randomly picked this hotel and were so fortunate that we did.  The hotel castle is fabulous, our room was right off the upstairs patio with a four poster bed and modern amenities.  We had dinner at the castle and highly recommend it!   The hotel staff are all great and very accommodating.  This is a wonderful place to stay.  On a side note, don't miss seeing the monastery/cathedral about 12 KM away.

Medieval Wonder

Just spent two splendid nights at this wonderful hotel. If you want to splurge, have dinner over looking the countryside. I had the best veal schnitzel ever! Breakfast is a real treat. Ask for a table overlooking the lower valley. We stayed in a great out building. It kept us away from the noise from the ongoing plays going on within the castle. Internet was "spotty". We noticed local teenagers using the insecure free wifi outside the building.  We'll be back!
