The hotel is located out of the crowds of the lake in a pleasant area even when it's very hot around the lake you can enjoy a few degrees less there .Spacious rooms and very nice lounge where we had a lovely dinner .The owner chef and his wife make you feel home .We had an amazing beef cheek cooked in red wine with fresh vegetables and a venison ragout that was to die for .... Their mixed salad is all organic and good choice of wines and beers .

found this place when we were desperate, its a nice peaceful hotel , spacious rooms with very good food and huge breakfast, lots of parking and 15 min walk to castle or 5 min drive . however difficult to have doors open to veranda when sleeping

good overnight stay

When we arrived, the owner was mortified that she hadn't noticed my request for a room on a low floor or near a lift for my disabled husband.  She had originally allocated us a room on the 2nd floor but immediately changed it to one in the 'annexe'.  This would normally have been an upgrade.  I didn't get to see the rooms in the main building but the one we were given in the annexe would most definitely have been worth paying a bit extra for.  The 'annexe' is a more modern building standing behind the main hotel across the car park.  It has a lift & our room was huge (it was really a family suite with 2 bedrooms) & an enormous balcony.  There was also a fridge - very welcome on what was an extremely hot day.
The food was superb - my venison goulash with cranberry & pear was gorgeous & my husband waxed lyrical about his veal tongues!  Breakfast was also brilliant.  The owners & staff were very friendly & helpful (& also spoke good English!)

This hotel is tucked away a short distance from Lake Constance but close enough to use as a base whilst being away from the crowds. It is also just outside (& below) Heiligenberg - with its stunning views & castle

Great hotel - fantastic food

All we were looking for was a decent, clean, comfortable place at reasonable price. Gasthof Hack matched our expectations. The rooms were spotless, well organized and also had a great view from the balcony. I just tried the restaurant food once in the evening which was delicious. I would have loved to try for the second evening, but the restaurant is open only till 9pm and we were reaching the hotel only around 9:15pm, so have to eat in another restaurant near by. The breakfast was quite simple and can't expect more for the price you pay. The only disadvantage was the missing WIFI in the room.

Matched my expectations

We had stayed in the hotel before, so when we needed to be in the area again, the Hotel Hack was the obvious choice. 
If anything this visit was even better. This time we stayed in Haus Clara where the lift to our spacious top floor room was welcome. 
The sitting area in the bedroom was comfortable and relaxing. The bed was huge and we had a couple of wonderful nights sleep. 
The food in the restaurant is excellent and good value. 
The welcome we received and the service we had whilst we were there were second to none.
